It involved an Atlas Air 747 (N523MC) that was significantly below the glide path while approaching STN rwy 05.

Maybe Becks left the landing light on... Big grin

One aviation expert said: "This was a close one, make no bones about it. If the plane had continued on its initial path it would have crashed into Hertfordshire or Essex, possibly with the loss of hundreds of lives."

Hundreds of lives - and WTF cares about two idiots then?

It was coming in after an eight-hour flight from New York.

Must have faced ugly head winds...  Insane Eight hours for JFK-STN? No way...

The drama on December 12 came after Victoria - who is due to give birth in three weeks - flew home after seeing husband David in Spain.

Oh my god, how shocking! The bad evil jet blast certainly destroyed her stupid hairstyle...

Do you see the new instrument they have on board the 747 according to that article?

A 'GlideScope' ?!?!?

Any a.net shots of one of these? Must be in the cockpit somewhere. I'm guessing it looks like the thing Spock used to look into at his science station on the Enterprise.

Best regards,

Jim

I would laugh if it wasn't too serious, it could only happen to them. They'll probably try to get a ban put on any aircraft coming within a certian radius of Beckingham Palace, lol.

"It was rattling all over the place. There was an awful screaming noise, and the metal wing flaps were screeching and scraping."

Flaps are made of metal? Piss off, no way! I always thought they were made of strawberries and cream. The flaps constantly screech you say? Oh, well that would make sense.

To someone who has never seen an airplane before.

Frankly, who cares if it flew over Victoria Beckham? I wouldn't care if someone lived on a displaced threshold, so why is a mediocre singer/international whore symbol any more important

What a pity.

Now if only we could get a 747 to do that over Donald Trump's mansion with him in it.

The thing that David Becham was involved in at Santiago Estreau Stadium(sorry for the misspelling) in Madrid, was actully reallly scary. My school bus was passing by when the threat was called in, 70,000 people had to be evacuated. It was a very scary day.

But if I had known about the Korean crash, and I lived in that neighberhood I would be really scared!

What utter nonsense. These people will do anything to be in the newspapers. On top of that, the tabloids only want to sell newspapers. Lets keeps posts related to the prime subject. The world of aviation.

Well are any articles in any of the broadsheet newspapers, and look at the similarities.
But if it did crash, who would give a f**k if posh and becks would die, feed them to the wolves and put them through an aircraft engine. Neither of them have any desirable talent.

What a complete load of rubbish!

"Six years ago, a Boeing 747 cargo plane operated by Korean Airways skimmed house rooftops and crashed into a fireball near Stansted. All four crew died instantly."

The Korean Air crew 'skimmed' the houses at the end of Runway 23, which are 'skimmed' every time a heavy jet takes off there, then the crew bravely brought it down in the middle of Hatfield Forest, avoiding any habitation and the M11 motorway.

"Witness Jonathon Meade, 52, of Harlow, Essex, said: "The jumbo was at a bizarre angle and a very alarming height.
"It was rattling all over the place. There was an awful screaming noise, and the metal wing flaps were screeching and scraping.
"It went right over the top of Sawbridgeworth. It was terrifying to see a large aircraft coming in over shops and people's houses like that."

Not to disparage my fellow residents, but look at a map, see the runway - 23/05, follow it back and hey what do you know! They all fly over Sawbridgeworth, and quite a few fly over Harlow too! Wow. Who'd have thought it eh? Bizarre angle. Hmm, maybe turning onto final from a slightly different approach?

"It was terrifying to see a large aircraft coming in over shops and people's houses like that"

So knock all the shops and houses down, make a nice clear path, and that will really please all the Stop Stansted Expansion groupies!

Honestly. At least with paper tabloids you can use them in the toilet if you run out of Andrex!

(ps, Beckingham Palace is just to the North East of Harlow, where the A1184 crosses the river, for immediate NOTAM release! Please don't screech your flaps just there!
