AA ORD-NGO Starts Tomorrow

Sun Apr 03, 2005 10:57 am

Well the topic says it all, I jsut wanted to inform you all about and just wnated to hear some thoughts on it. I was looking at the seat availability function on and it looks like the flight is about 60-70% full. Do you think loads will improve or are they gonna have to eventually drop this route. Are there any hter airlines who serve ORD-NGO?

60-70% isnt bad at all for a first day of a route, plus if first class is filled up that could already be enough to more than break even

life wasn't worth the balance, or the crumpled paper it was written on

Another thing to look at is cargo down below.

UA started their new SFO-NGO last week and it was running at about 50-60%. But as stated, the cargo down below helps the route.

Wow those load factors suck, regardless of freight, if they were running it for freight they would have cargo fleets. I know that its new for UA and AA, but NW is running in the upper 90's and overbooked on several of the DTW-NGO flights.

Give both AA and UA some time, it's exciting enough to have new routes in their network next to the traditional KIX and NRT flights.

For the first flight it seems that coach is about 70-75% full. J has 16/35 seats occupied and F has 6/16 seats occupied. It drops coming up, but then again this isn't the busiest time (I don't think).

Hopefully the loads should pick up soon enough. It's nice to see some new flights to Japan to somewhere other than NRT. I'm surprised that AA would have better loads than United since United has a much stronger presence in Japan and is fairly well established in the Pacific market along with Northwest for US carriers. Also, it would seem like SFO would do better, but it doesn't seem to be the case. As for any other airlines that would serve the ORD-NGO market, United comes to mind, not that I think they would do that now.

I am sitting here at Nagoya International Airport@waiting for my friend to arrive on AA27. Pictures will come soon. This airport ROCKS!!!! There are so many people here and most are not even going anywhere. Just shopping and spending time looking around. The Skydeck (observatory) is awsome. Planes take off right in front of you and you barely need a telephoto lens.

The Airport is its own destination. Screw the city of Nagoya. The airport is all you need to visit.
My name is Centrair but HND is closer. Let's Japanese Aviation!
