Tirana, LV And Others

Thu May 19, 2005 2:55 am

According to my June 2004 OAG timetable, Albanian Airlines (LV) operated from Tirana to the following cities using the 142: Athens (6-times-weekly); Bologna (daily); Frankfurt (3-times-weekly); Istanbul (4-times-weekly); Milan (6-times-weekly); Pristina (daily); Rome (4-times-weekly); and Zurich (3-times-weekly). I have searched its website but it is not up-to-date and so it is not accurate. Does anyone know its current destinations and current frequencies? I imagine that these routes are vastly for O&D traffic.

Any info. re LV's proposal to serve LON?

I know that TK serves IST; AZ serves MXP (twice-daily using M80s) and FCO (daily using M80s); OA serves ATH (10-times-weekly); OS serves VIE (11-times-weekly); and perhaps a few other airlines. Are the stated non-LV routes primarily O&D traffic? I would imagine so.

I forgot to add that TIA (Tirana) was served daily by Volareweb using the 320 from BRI (Bari). I wonder whether any airline will ever reintroduce this route.

Oh right. Amadeus says differently - 11-times-weekly now, moving to 12-times-weekly later.

I only know that LATI is about to be upgraded or totally rebuilt by the same construction company that made ATH international "hochtief"
Are you in Tirana Pearson?
I suggest you go to Block (a down town wealthy neighborhoud created round the house of Enver Hoxha) and have a drink in Vodaphone tower from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city. It could be better if you had ice cream (its ours)....

Sadly not, but I wish to visit Albania very soon (plus Serbia and Mont. and Macedonia. I've just returned from Bosnia and Herz.)

Volare to Bari was an arrangement with Ada Air, which used to fly to Sofia, Athens, Thessaloniki and Pristina.
Seems Ada only fly now to Bari (Yak 40) and (cargo) to Thessaloniki (EMB-110)
