Fokker 140?!

Wed Jun 22, 2005 3:01 pm

I was surfing thru Uair's web page when I saw this:

''en los simuladores de vuelo de American Airlines en Dallas (quienes poseen también aeronaves F-100 y F-140).''
Translated means ''...in the Flight Simulator of American Airlines in Dallas(who also have F-100 and F140)''

Here is the link if you wanna it. http://www.uair.com/

So, is out there a new type of aircraft that I don't know, or this guys need to read a little bit more on what they've got???

Mike.

P.S: I thought they were out of Bussines and stoped ops...

Wouldn't that be American Air Force F-14 sim?  Smile  Smile

I want those Fokkers back in production! PLEASE! We need some more fight for EMBRAER! (not that I don't like EMBRAER, but RJ market is going to the Brazilian side... and no competition is not good) Bombardier is losing the marketshare!  Sad

Cheers! wave

There once was a F-130 (just no -140) in the works, to be released after the F70. Project was axed however.

There has never been a F130 in the "works" only a study to see what the possibilities would be.
After this study the project was stopped(not axed) due to a specific reason on which I can't comment.

Just a little patience, they will get there in the end.(see various other threads)

Yeah, I remember that too.
It was a strenghtened version of the Fokker 100, and even remember seeing a computer generated model in a magazine.

Was it not because Fokker's owner, DASA, was working on an own plane of roughly similar size? It was mentioned in one book released shortly after the Fokker bankruptcy. Forgot the name of the book, and it is still at the parents place so can't look it up.

Apparently the DASA plane was named Fax or Fox or something similar.

No Peter that was not why the project was halted.
Of course even if the study showed promising results still nobody knows whether the F130 would have seen the light of day.
