I was able to get a copy of the printed summer 2005 timetable for JAT. It appears that all of their flights are operated by 733's and ATR's. Even the lengthy Belgrade-Kuwait-Dubai Flt. 86 is operated with a 733. The only exception are their 3x daily flights between BEG and Podgorica (TGD) which are operated by DC-9-30s. From the way these DC-9 flights are timed, it's obvious that there's a single plane flying back and forth between the two cities.
Does anybody know the status of JAT's other equipment? I understand they have additional DC-9s (possibly in storage?) as well as the DC-10s. Their website also says they still operate 727s.

This is odd.. I have never seen their Boeing 727s fly anywhere; perhaps their doing charter work.. Any idea of which routes they could be serving? There's also a chance the DC-10 could be doing charter work, because I saw it out being towed out on the ramp. But, it makes sense, they have a busy schedule of charters, going to cities of which, quite frankly, I have never heard of.

That's probably why I saw it parked near the Jat maintences facility. I don't think it took off yesterday, because the BEG website had nothing about Nimes france, in my preparation for going spotting, unless it left in the morning.
The DC-9s COULD be doing charter runs, but I've never seen them flying. Jat has been doing a lot of charter flying, but the DC-9s likely don't have the range to do most of it.

Unles theres a misorint, the Summer 2005 JAT timetable lists no scheduled flights with 727s, 734s, or DC-10s. WIth the exception of the DC-10, perhaps all of the other aircraft are operating charters.

You are right. Majority of flights are operated by 733 and ATR-72s, but JAT still has two 722s in service. They will definitely use them on charter flights to Turkey and Egypt and as for DC-9s, well, I live close to the airport and haven't seen any landing here for some time. Several of them were hush-kitted and could be used on flights to EU destinations.
Unfortunately, beautiful DC-10 went for good. I will miss her a lot and I still don't understand why JAT decided not to make some kind of farewell party.
BTW, this is my 200th post!!!

Nobody knows it. The last story I know of is that a contract with Airbus will be changed, so that JAT would get 4 instead of 8 planes. Somebody mentioned A318 to be delivered soon, but it hasn't happened yet, and I have no idea how would JAT benefit from an A318.
Another "story" says that JAT would be leasing 4 regional aircraft in the Fall. These would probably be EMB170s, but again, nothing sure or confirmed.
As far as 737NGs go, there is no mention of them in the last year or so.

There's something wrong with that printed version definitely. Anyway, they fly their B734s a lot. I had a chance to fly on YU-AOO last year from CDG. That flight was was 100% full, and I felt like we had a few passengers in overhead bins. We took off like a rocket!

It would be veery nice, but... They mentioned regional planes with capacity for 70 passengers, which could easily mean more ATR-72s. I hate when JAT's PR does this to us and they do it all the times. They give piece of information which usually means little or nothing. Once again, I'd love to see those Embraers but they also announced leasing of at least one 767 for this summer.

Tu-154 is very noisy but it doesn't bother me. In fact, I love it.

Probably. Most of the people there don't. OK, sorry for sarcasm, but I couldn't help it. One of the reasons for that might as well be to save some space and print less pages. For example, on a daily flight to LHR, 733 is used on Mondays and Thursdays and 734 on the rest of the days. It would mean to rows. Remember, many printed schedules use abreviations such as 32S (all types of A320 family) or 737 (all versions) for that reason.

Well, during the Olympics in Athens last summer, they easily remembered the anniversary of JAT's first flight there, packed their stuff, made a party there and had an excuse for several days in the most popular city on the planet at the moment. Then, they didn't ask question about cost cutting measures, but seized the moment.
On this oaccasion, farewell party for DC-10 would give little benefits for "hot shots" in JAT. After all, it doesn't mean free trip and nobody gains anything, so why bother? Sometimes, I really hate the way people in JAT thinks. So selfish and arrogant.

The Hotel Metropole has JAT timetables. Just go to the little travel agency inside the main entrance. Gazprom flies to BEG. Where do they operate from. I photographed a Pylkovo TU-154 in Nov. last year taking off from BEG.

I cannot believe YU-AMB has left Belgrade, I am pretty upset about this. I will always remember her flying into Tullamarine during the 1980's. I have a framed picture of her ready for take off from runway 34 on a sunny day at Tullamarine. I will miss that beauty!

I wish you were right but considering that she is now due for a major D Check which will cost more than what she's worth, I think she's off to the vultures.
As for the fleet, two hushkitted DC-9s still fly on domestic and very occasionally fill-in on certain European hops to replace ATR's. But that is very rare and these two last birds will be retired from service by the end of the year.
The 722s are in their final days and they too, now operating charter flights only, will be scrapped. There is a rumor that one will go to the Aviation Museum.
As for the rest, the 733s and 734s are now the backbone of the fleet, complimented by the ATRs on domestic and regional services. With regards to fleet renewal, highly unlikely that it will happen anytime soon; JAT is still fighting for bare survival!

Well I was told by the Director of Nîmes Airport,who is a friend of mine,that the aircraft is with TAT industries for maintenance- so I suppose you don't invest in maintenance and then scrap the aircraft.I shall try to find out and let you know

Maybe off-topic, but last saturday a JAT 733 YU-ANH had a minor incident at AMS. When I talked to the crew they told me that they were continuing to Lagos via BEG. Does JAT serve Lagos? And if so with a 737.

I'll make a run to the Metropol tomorrow then. If I am able to take more than one copy, I'll make them available first come-first serve. The Tu-154s come in from Moscow/Vnukovo every saturday, I believe the Yak-42 goes to LED, but it might occasionally be the Tu-154, also Saturday only.
Also off-topic, but why in the world does JAT fly TIV-LED? I see no demand for this route whatsoever. Wouldn't at least TGD make more sense?

Hello gentlemen, its been quite a while since I last visited this site, but could not go without sending my greatings to everyone. It is sad to see the DC-10 finally leaving JAT, but it was definately inevitable. The remaining DC-9s and Boeing 727s should follow this year, though we have been saying this for the last few years!
The new jetways at second terminal of Belgrade airport look terrific. I hope the next plan of action is to give the control tower a face-lift.
