Is there any advantage (no pun intended) to checking in online with AA if you need to check bags when you get to the airport? Do they let you go to the head of the ticket counter line if you already have your boarding pass, like some airlines do?

If you have checked in online and brought your boarding pass to the airport, you are allowed to immediately walk up to one of the agents assigned to assist kiosk check-ins. They will tag the bag for you, and I have never experienced more than a one person wait for a kiosk agent. It's a beeter deal than waiting for full check-in service.

I believe you can also print your bag tags from the kiosk if the location has them.

1. Check-in your luggage at curbside with a skycap
2. Use the self-service devices to "check bags only"
3. Wait in the ticketing line to have an agent check-in your luggage.
Traveling Internationally, you have one option:
1. Check-in with an Agent.
