Delta Gates @ DTW?

Wed Nov 30, 2005 9:23 am

I am scheduled to fly on ComAir tomorrow out of DTW; To my understanding Delta has gates at the MacNamera Terminal: The gate information on the Delta website and my boarding pass says B18 According to the map on the offical DTW website, there is no gate B18 at the MacNamara Terminal nor at the LC Smith Terminal ...

Where do go?

Help please, thank you.

The MacNamara aka Northwest World Gateway was expanded. It is indeed there. Enjoy your flight !

B18 is there in person. Just not on the map.

Yes, Delta is at the new terminal, but you're right there is no B18 shown on that map Wayne County needs to update that website, unless ComAir still flies out of LC Smith? I'm not 100% sure, I don't fly Delta ... In anycase, there is no gate "B18" at DTW anywhere that I know of.

hmmmm....

I can assure you that the gate will be B18 at the McNamara Terminal, I work the ramp at that gate pretty much everyday. Sorry, not on Wednesday though, a day off. Proceed to the McNamara Terminal. You will check in at the Delta counter which is on the South End of that terminal or left side upon entering. Delta does the counter and gate for Comair. After that proceed through security, past the Mall like shops, slight dog-leg left and then down the escalator. After going through the tunnel and back up the escalator on the other side, go LEFT towards the B-gates. Gate B18 will be the second to the last gate on the right hand side with two moving walkways to help you along if need be. This concourse is also a fairly good viewing/spotting area if you are interested. If doing a carry-on bag, I would estimate a travel time of 15 minutes from counter to gate. I hope you enjoy the Terminal and Travel on The Delta Connection.

Ironically, that link does not show the renovated Concourse C. That's open too.

The damn terminal isn't even open a couple of years and they are already renovating it. Gotta love government in action!

Dude, you are dead on! Even the jog to the left to get to the escalators. I know that walk well.

When did they move? I remember flying out of there last summer (2004)...the terminal was pretty rundown.

Think about it...when the NW Worldgateway was designed, RJ's had not really become fashionable.

With this in mind NW rebuilt the the terminal to accommodate them. It had very little to do with Wayne County, but NW's change in it's regional fleets.

Delta and Comair moved in April-ish of this year to the new digs.

Polar were you out on the ramp at B18 for ComAir 5199 to CVG (9 AM flight) on Monday? I was on that flight (man was it bumpy!) and I asked one of the rampers to put my gate-checked bag in front to help make my connection. We arrived in Cincy late so i needed all the help I could get!  Smile My 31 minute connection turned into 16 minutes, but thankfully I made it!

I did not start on Monday until 1pm, glad everything worked out on the connection though. I got to work last night when the rain was coming down sideways. I have often wondered lately how strong and powerful the wind/rain could be in a hurricane, I'd rather not experience that, I know this is nothing to compare. Our gate area at DTW, B16, B18 and B20 gets all of the wind because of being on the SW corner.

Polar1, I flew DTW-CVG-GSO on Saturday, Nov5. I took the 4pm DTW-CVG flight, I believe from B18. There were three people working that I saw, to guys behind the gate counter (one appeared to be in the 30's and one was a younger looking guy, with a slightly dark complection), and one younger girl with the bright orange hazard vest on. The younger guy, after helping at the gate desk, got on the plane with us and flew to CVG. I'm not sure if you were around.

At any rate, the CSR (the one who didn't get on the plane) nicely changed my DTW-ATL-GSO routing to an earlier DTW-CVG-GSO routing without the $25 fee. Thanks  Smile

My favorite piece of clothing! Nothing like looking the Great Pumpkin or worse yet, a pylon! Sorry Ejmmsu, again not there at that time. Really though, I do work out there. We have the flexibility to do shift trading and what not. Again, it sounds like a good travel experience for you, nice to hear. Generally, we do not make our way to the actual gate/desk area, bottom and end of the jet bridges and outside here at DTW. Delta people do the counter and gate's here, Comair does the ramp.
