Quoting David_itl (Reply 1): Air Wales has a strange reputation in the north west - they did try to operate a 2 weekdaily Do228 operation on the CWL-MAN route before giving it up quite quickly and they've had 2 bashes at CWL-LPL (with extensions at both ends) and not made that work! So I couldn't guess why they would want to operate, I presume, a more "touristy" route even they couldn't get domestic services to work. |
Quoting David_itl (Reply 3): More news: ZB appear to have dropped both MAD and NAP, GT's operation looks like this: RAK 2 weekly, DBV 3 weekly, PFO 5 weekly, AGP daily, TFS 6 weekly, MLA 3 weekly and ACE 2 weekly, and OK are going back down to 13 weekly. |
Quoting David_itl (Reply 1): I can't find Portugalia's service to LIS/OPO on Amadeus for the summer so they may be finally giving up the ghost after a few years of tinkering with the timings of the service with barely any beneficial results. |
Quoting GayrugbyMAN (Reply 9): Naples won;t be returning for ZB according to their ticket desk at Manchester...neither will Madrid but they say they do know about two yet unannounced routes...my bet is Lisbon and Heraklion! |
Quoting Myt332 (Reply 11): I flew MAN-MAD with ZB in October, very low loads but hey ho, more attentive service. |
Quoting Speedbird19 (Reply 17): AZ are sending in an A321 tomorrow morning (coming in tonight) as far as I'm aware to accommodate for this evening's cancelled flight and tomorrow mornings flight. |
Quoting DptMAN (Thread starter): Any news why Air Wales seems to be launching out of MAN and why no schedules on the Air Wales Website? Very strange routes? dptMAN |

AZ cancelled a flight! Very surprising I quite like their A321's, be great to see it at MAN more often. Adam |
Quoting Speedbird19 (Reply 21): They sent the MD-82 instead, and we got the A319 this afternoon, all the E-170s are knackered up, it was due to land last night at 1730 and at 1650 they turned back for MXP...ah well! |
Quoting Speedbird19 (Reply 23): ROTFL!!! E145...that would be worse than the E170!!! It's always full lol I think they'll swap and change between the 170 and the 319's, the MD82's are coming back for summer, and the morning departure time is changing from the 26th of March (on or around that date) so instead of an 0930 departure its going to an 0600 departure, which means more 0400 starts for moi lol |
Quoting WhiteHatter (Reply 24): Don't know about next summer, but they are subbing for busted Embraers right now! |
Quoting BA757 (Reply 26): Its fairly ironic how the unreliable MD's are subbing for unreliable E jets! Adam |
Quoting BlueShamu330s (Reply 27): Well, I was on the 260 this afternoon, after the 170 went tech. Bundled onto a 319, then there was a 45 minute delay as the field went snow white and everyone queued for de-icing. Arrived at MAN, no-one to meet the aircraft, waited 20 minutes onboard with no ground power until the bridge was connected and we disembarked with emergency lighting only, then waited a further 45 minutes for baggage to arrive, which incidentally turned out to be still in MXP. What joy. |

Quoting Jetset7E7 (Reply 33): Ah what a surprise! AZ back of the queue in the crewing again, I work for Swissport ramp, and I can say that AZ doesn't get the full attention from our ramp staff. Why didn't the crew use the APU? I hate it when they wait for the Ground Power |
Quoting BlueShamu330s (Reply 36): I understand the comment about AZ being at the back of the queue for ground handling - the KLM from AMS landed 10 minutes after us, yet they had almost all cleared the baggage hall before our carousel had even started. |
Quoting BlueShamu330s (Reply 36): But don't handling agents still get 'Final' prompts from ATC @ MAN ? |
Quoting Mhodgson (Reply 31): Even more ironic that the MD flight this morning also went tech... though it was fixed in about an hour. It lined up on the runway, spooled, and gave up! Taxied halfway down and returned to T2! |
Quoting Speedbird19 (Reply 40): It didnt go tech, there was another reason why it came back, but it defo wasn't tech lol |
