Air Arabia Starts Moscow (Vnukovo)

Mon Dec 26, 2005 11:07 pm

Air Arabia has launched two scheduled weekly flights from its base in Sharjah to Moscow's Vnukovo airport. Flights are apparently operated by Armenian International Airlines (A320) according to the news link below:

I believe the former Soviet block offers a wealth of expansion opportunities for Air Arabia as it offers low cost flights catering to traders and tourists wishing to visit the UAE. I believe this route can be well developed and strengthened with a daily flight soon.

With this new flight Air Arabia offers flights to 3 ex-Soviet destinations: Almaty, Astana and Moscow.

The big Russian community in Dubai will sure be happy to use low cost airlines directly to Moscow.

Cheers

There are a lot of Russian ladies of the night floating around Dubai and the GCC countries in general nice to see that the aviation community is thinking about them too  Wink

Probably to get slots at attractive times and prices. I dont think that this route will be used to feed others so it is not needed tofly into one of Moscow's more prominent airports.

Air Arabia is actually doing quite well - but how is their fleet coping up, I don't think they have a very large fleet right now and if they are using outside aircraft to operate the flight, it means that they would be paying pretty steep wet-lease rates. Anyone can fill us in on the status of their deliveries?
been there, flown that

Good to see another destination from the SHJ/DXB area  Smile

There will be links between Dubai/Sharjah area:
DXB-DME ~ Siberia Airlines ~ IL-86
DXB-DME ~ Emirates ~ A330-200
DXB-DME ~ Singapore Airlines ~ 777-200
DXB-DME ~ See Below#
DXB-SVO ~ Aeroflot ~ A320
DXB-VKO ~ See Below#
SHJ-VKO ~ Armenian International Airlines/Air Arabia ~ A320

SQ havn't started their SIN-DXB-DME service yet  Smile

# - There is also another airline operating between DXB and DME and VKO , but I'm not sure who the airline is? Here is there logo:

I wish Aeroflot would upgrade their service from SVO to a 763 or IL96  Smile

Could Air Arabia's A320's reach Western Europe at all. Maybe somewhere like Rome?
