FlyGlobespan: What Are They?

Wed Jan 18, 2006 12:16 am

Charter airline??
Single weekly flights from GLA and/or EDI to Pula, Mahon, Heraklion, Hurghada (on behalf of MYT I believe), Cyprus

LCC Airline??
HF Flights from GLA and/or EDI to Barcelona, Alicante, Malaga, Palma, Stansted, Prague, Amsterdam.

Long Haul scheduled Airline??
Daily flights GLA-SFB starting.

Up against Ryanair and/or easyJet and/or Air Berlin
EDI-STN
GLA-STN
STN-GVA

What will they do next? Talk of them getting 787s which won't be cheap, and possibly expanding to South Africa, Hong Kong and Australia.

Not forgetting the Globespan flights to Canada whih utilise Air Transat

So what exactly are GSM? A Scottish version of BMI?

well they are certainly not charter, as all tickets are sold inhouse, making them scheduled.

Just because they operate long-haul doesnt automatically mean they cant be classed as a loco. Their costs are low, and they offer very few frills, that makes them a loco.

I wouldnt say they were a scottish bmi, they seem to know what direction they are heading, and dont announce/drop routes constantly.

I agree with Nighthawk, but:

Well....  Wink EDI-MAD, GLA-ORY, EDI-BOH and now we have to wait and see what is happening with STN-ATH. None of these routes were even given a chance to start.

EDI-STN is still operating at a sensible frequency, God knows what they playing at with GLA-STN.
