Batavia Air 737 Crash

Sun Feb 19, 2006 9:22 pm

http://www.kompas.com/utama/news/0602/19/155713.htm

Kompas are reporting a Batavia Air 737 sliding off the runway at Balikpapan.

It doesn't mention whether it is a 732 or 733 or mention any deaths (presumably there were none)

So, the thread title should be: Batavia Air 737 skids off runway...? Else the thread title can be misleading.

Anyone with more information on this, share it here please.

My apologies for that. Technically speaking if a plane skids off a runway it is a crash, just as if a car skids off a road into a hedge it is a crash, but I take your point, the title could have been more specific.

There was no-one injured in the accident. It was PK-YTH (737-200Adv), from SUB - BPN , transit in BDJ .

What's the status of the aircraft? Was it just an overrun or is the plane broken?
