This is my first post - I've been a long time anonymous browser, but have decided to join A.net now and become an active member. Despite the username I have an interest in pretty well all that flies, but particularly in airliners.
I live 10 minutes away from NEMA/EGNX/EMA
whatever you want to call it, and here we get some quite unusual visitors. Regular visitors are Antonov 124's (from Polet, Volga Dnepr & Antonov Airlines), Antonov 12's, 26's & 72's.
Over the last 18 months we have had two very special visitors - an Antonov Airlines An-22 and the An-225.
I only saw the An-22 on the ground, but was fortunate enough to see the An-225 take off. To have an aircraft that size less than 50ft above your head is mind blowing and something I will never forget.
I am looking forward to the A380's visit which can't be too far off now, for the usual Rolls-Royce flypasts. It would be nice to see this in formation with the R-R Spitfire as was done with the A346!!
