Aeroflot Bus To The Alps!

Sun Mar 12, 2006 8:14 pm

While looking in amadeus for timetables from Geneva to Innsbruck, I fell on a result where one would take a GVA- MUC flight leaving GVA at 8:45 pm and arriving at 10:05 pm. Then it says Aeroflot MUC- INN by BUS leaving 12 am and arriving 3 am. (horrible timetable)

I was quite curious about that so I went to Aeroflot website where I saw they have quite a big bus shuttle service from MUC to the main Alpine ski resorts in Austria and Germany.

Here is a link to the pages

Since when does Aeroflot offer that service ?

Have you ever taken it?

Any other airline offer such service?

amazing they don't offer the same kind of Service in Switzerland with the numoerous amount of Russian people that come here !

Thanks in advance

KLM has a bus service between YUL and YOW. Well, actually, not to YOW, but to XDS (Ottawa downtown).

You know what's the worst. I just hate it when Buses are used to replace trains of A/C... I think its just a pain sitting on those very small pitched, slow, crowded buses

there are a lot of charter flights from Russia to innsbruck ..so the demand is there. Read in flight intl magazine or airways. The title i think it said: "invasion of the russians: innsbruck airport", or something like it.

These are for the Russian Orthodox Christmas in early January. Salzburg sees a similar invasion too

Wizz Air also run buses; from Krakow to Katowice

FI used to offer bus service to many cities in Europe from LUX in the 70's and 80's. I used it often as a child. We would fly ORD-KEF-LUX and then sit on a bus for 4 more hours to Mannheim and the another hour in my grandmothers car! yuck

KLM operate (or did operate) a bus service between Almaty and Bishkek. It took about 3 hours.

Gulf Air also have busses from Dammam to Bahrain (it just crosses the bridge between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain).
