Deltas New Look

Wed Jun 07, 2000 9:41 pm

Has any one at Delta noticed that their new look deign is exactly that of the Russian flag, hope its just experimental and they realise before adopting it, perhaps Aeroflot buying it off them would make more sense.
.....up there with the best!

I agree, and I think that several people have mentioned this before on here.

I don't think it looks bad, personally...I mean, it's better than that last one they had (and never finished painting the fleet in). I just wish they'd add a cheatline and maybe bring back the "^ Delta Air Lines" like they had on the last livery (that was the only good thing about it, IMHO).

The tail on the new DL livery is not "exactly that of the Russian flag" DL's tail is red ,blue and sky blue. The flag of the Russian federation is white, blue and red,so it may be similar but it is not "exactly" the same.I think it looks very good, and the average joe blow passenger is not going to see any similarity to the Russian flag because they probably don't even know what it looks like.

It Looks Like Nothing

Wed Jun 07, 2000 11:23 pm

If it looks similar to the Russian flag or not, it just looks terrible. What does it mean? AA displays their AAs, United its U, Northwest has at least a little N, but what the hell is that DL design?
People complained about the BA tails because nobody understood their meaning. Well, BA tails were fine artworks from around the world, but that Delta thing is just nothing. The stuff Delta tells us about 'livery reflecting flexibility, dynamic style' and so on is ridiculous. Just my point of view.

It's tacky. Bad choice. How come an airline with a blue/white/red color
scheme can't get a livery right? And have you seen those aircraft
interiors? They are worst. Delta has a lot to do before it assumes the
role of "global airline" it so desperately wants to be.

I was at ATL on Monday, and saw the new livery on several airplanes. It really is starting to grow on me. The light blue is similar to the blue that employees will be wearing in the uniforms. (blue shirts, grey suits).

The CO paint scheme is very boring, the tail is ok,but the fuselage-plain white upper, plain gray lower with a puke yellow stripe seperating the two. And the name Continental is very small and not easy to read from a distance. At least the DL livery has some color to it and the name Delta stands out.

The day counter can be real messed up. Im not saying in coEWR's case it was, but on my old name I had been on the forum for at least 2 weeks and it said I had 6 days and 92 posts....   I like Delta but the new livery isnt all that great, I agree with others when I say they should put the typeface "Delta" on the tail as with the 97 livery and add something to the fuselage. Then it would look great.

ContinentalEWR

I would say that everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, but ContinentalEWR continues to mire this forum with destructive and inflammatory commentary --- particularly dealing with Delta Airlines.

EWR, please start basing your posts/opinions on facts and/or contribute something other than personal bias. Better yet, join AOL and use the chat rooms.

Delta should've kept the cheatline and some type of delta shape on the tail...
fuselage looks too plain and the flag...well...I prefer the straight shaped delta

Hey guys, lighten up.....ContinentalEWR contributes
a number of interesting items on this forum. I don't
think Delta is all that bad, but his/her comments
are a lot more intelligent than yours, Hartsfield???
Come on, grow up...aren't you supposed to be a
student? If so, how come you are constantly on
line. I think you have too much free time.

As for Delta's look, well, it's actually pretty cool.
The tail is a neat color scheme and the white
look is clean, crisp, and I like the bold Delta logo.
It's not the best airline livery I've seen, but it is
better than the one they introduced in 1997.

Hey guys, lighten up a little OK? ContinentalEWR
posts some really interesting items and judging
by the number responses he/she gets, I think
a number of posts are valuable. I don't agree
with ContinentalEWR's thoughts on Delta all
the time. The new livery is a lot better than
the one introduced in 1997 and I like the tail
colors. It's pretty cool and promotes Delta's
international stature. The all white fuselage
is crisp and clean. It's not the nicest of
liveries (there are better ones) but it is not
bad. Hartsfield, for a student, you sure have
a lot of free time on your hands? Stop being
so immature.
