No way BA/AA on VA acft

Tue Feb 16, 1999 8:15 pm

Hi Everyone,
I would just like to clear up a couple of mis-conceptions with previous posts. The No Way BA/AA logo applied to Virgin Atlantic acft was in place way before OneWorld was formally announced. It was in reference to a closer alliance that BA and AA wanted to from specifically regarding routes across the Atlantic.
Secondly in a previous post regarding foreign ownership of US carriers someone posted that BA controls QF. That is simply wrong. BA own 25% of Qantas. BA does not control QF they have only 2 or 3 people on the board of Qantas. 2 of them are Robert Ayling and Lord King. I just wanted to post this in the interestes of accuracy.
Best wishes
Maurice Kennedy
Sydney.
