Question About Blue1 Service To STN

Tue Apr 25, 2006 6:02 am

On the Blue1 website it indicates that HEL/STN flights are operated by Avro RJ85s but on the SAS website the same flights are shown as being operated by the MD90. Does anyone know which is correct? Also, are Blue1's RJ85s configured 2-3 or 3-3?

At the moment they use mainly Avro on HEL-STN, of course they can change to MD90 anytime.
Don't know the exact configuration, their Avro85 has 84 seats, seat pitch 32/30.

Also Air Berlin offers good prices from STN to HEL.

From late June, all flights between STN and HEL are shown to be operated by MD-90 on Amadeus reservation system. I keep my fingers crossed that it stays this way - after all, I am only flying from DUS to STN in order to catch one of those MD-90 flights to Finland!

Quoting Andaman (Reply 1):

Configured 2-3. Three on the right side.

Air Berlin flights between HEL and STN are via DUS. Yet the prices are really good.

Mon-Thu flights are AR8's

Friday flights tend to be MD90's of SAS.

That's the what happened last week anyway.

Sorry - I mean left side of the aircraft which I had never personally experienced myself before on a 2-3 configuration! - Maybe one should say 3-2 configuration in this case ...

Blue1's MD90s come from SAS but as far as I know they are now painted in Blue1 livery - ore are they not?

Blue1 is currently operating two MD-90's leased from Nordic Leisure pending the delivery of their own 3 aircraft from SK.

Which MD90s will they be?

Hmmm, according to the database, SE-DMF and SE-DMH are flying for Nordic Leisure (currently subleased to Blue1), so it must be three of the other six. Haven't three of the other six SK machines already gone to "Hello" of Switzerland?

The two MD90's currently operating for Iceland Express (Hello) are
HB-JID ex OY-KIM
HB-JIF ex LN-ROB

There is a discrepency as to whether HB-JIE will be Iceland Express or British Jet (to replace HB-JIB) these account for the three Hello acquired from SAS.
