Aeromexico will be operating a series of charters from Mexico city to Edmonton this summer begining in July and operating into August.The charters are to bring mexican tourists to the city for tours of the mall and to nearby Jasper.The flights will be operated by AM 757s

I think this is very good news for all parties involved: AM, the Mexican wholesalers, Mexican tourists, Edmonton and Jasper. I will be attentive to see if there are some ads about this in the travel section of next Sunday's newspaper.

On a regularly scheduled basis, AM only flies to SAT from MTY through its regional affiliate 5D (don't know if they use Saabs or Embraers) and, according to several random searches I have conducted in the past, fares always appear to be on the high end. MEX-SAT is a market that MX has been very wise to exploit and, to certain extent, dominate (COExpress has only one daily flight, right?).
I wonder if AM should enter the Mexico-SAT market and offer mainline service from MEX, TLC or MTY. Or maybe when the EMB190's arrive, 5D could think about using those planes from TLC or MEX.

While checking the schedules of www.skyteam.com, I found that AM is now flying one weekly 737-700W between MEX and SAT:
AM 0629 SAT-MEX 09:00 - 11:05 Tuesday
AM 0630 MEX-SAT 16:15 - 18:15 Tuesday
If this is correct, the plane spends too much time parked in SAT. Besides, it is strange that the SAT-MEX flight is earlier than the MEX-SAT one... does anyone know how the plane is repositioned or if it comes from somewhere else? I can't help but think there is a mistake in the SkyTeam site.

While driving by SAT today, I kept noticing AM 737 parked in a RON spot outside terminal 2 all day today.
Being curious, I went to Orbitz to see if I could book a flight on AM to MEX for Tuesday Jun 6 and returning on Tuesday Jun 13, it is offered at $99RT, with tax was $196. If they keep this up, I will deffinately be switching from MX to AM for all my flights to MEX.
