Hi there, I live under the approach path for 24L of Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and the planes are usually intercepted while over my house at about 3000 ft. I also live very close to the circuit patterns of Toronto Buttonville Muni (YKZ) runway 15/33 and I get the occassional Dash 8 or Global Express flyover out of Downsview where they are made, so I see most brand new Dash 8's including the new -400's. I've seen SAS Dash 8-400 flying around and I see tons of the demonstrator Q200. From Buttonville I mostly see light props like Cessnas or light twins. I see the occassional biz-jet and have seen a CC-130 Herc and CF-18 Hornet in the pattern once each. For Pearson, I see mainly Air Canada single aisle Airbuses, tons of them actually. I also see Air Ontario Dash 8's, Air Georgian B1900D's, Canadian Regional Fokker 28-1000's, Air Canada A340's, 330's, 747-400's, Canadair Regional Jets, everything Air Canada flies I see, also get lots of Canadian now they have switched to the 2 southernmost terminals at YYZ. But the new interim c/s are much like AC and I can't tell a Canadian 767-300ER and Air Canada 767-300ER apart in the new c/s. I see Air Transat Tristars, 757's, 330's. All of Royal's fleet, all of Canada 3000's fleet, Olympic A340's, Various US carriers short-medium haulers, the largest aircraft flown into YYZ by a US carrier are the American and United 757's to Chicago. We get lots of American F100's, MD-80's, 727's, and a couple 757's daily, United flies in all of their 737 types including the -200, 300 and 500 they also fly in the A320's, 727's, and the odd 757. US Airways flies in the 737-300 and 400, CRJ, DC-9-30 and small types like the Dash 8, Jetstream 31, and Saab 340B. Northwest flies in the 727, DC-9-30 and 50, and A320, Delta flies in only the MD-88 but Comair and ASA fly the CRJ's in here. Continental flies only the 737-300's and 500s in here along with EMB-120's and 135's. British Airways flies in the 747-200 three times weekly, 747-400 two times weekly and 777-200 nine times weekly. Air France sends in their A340-300's, KLM sends their 747-300's and -400's, Skyservice flies the A320's and 330. There are many more types but these are the ones I see most.
Think before you type!
