Delta Fall Schedule

Mon Jun 26, 2006 11:58 pm

Looks like Delta uploaded a small peice of their fall schedule, whats weird is its showing only for Sept 2-5, but the chages are significant.

Anyone from Delta know if this is the fall sched, just not fully loaded, or is it a transition schedule with more revisions to come?

Some highlights i found:

PVD goes all RJ (not suprised, and they can kiss my business goodbye)

BDL will have only 1 757, rest all smaller planes

DAB will have 2 mainline, rest RJ

Im sure there is alot more, hopefully its just a small transistion schedule, but im not optomistic....

I noticed my Saturday Oct 21 BOS-CUN nonstop flight was cancelled. It is now routed through ATL. Has the Saturday only BOS-CUN flight been shelved or will it be introduced at a later date? Hopefully it will be added back if the Fall schedule is not yet complete.

I would guess this part of the schedule would get done first since it includes the Labor Day holiday. I think someone else mentioned that the entire September schedule would be finalized in a few weeks. I expect more markets (like PVD) will lose mainline as the 732's retire.

If this early September schedule holds, then the rumor from a few days ago about PNS getting a 757 is true. DL has 1x daily 757 flying ATL-PNS, plus 5xMD88, 1xCRJ700, 1xCRJ and 1xERJ.

I think this marks the first time ever DL has had a regularly scheduled 757 to PNS. Not to mention that PNS would be one of the smallest markets in the DL system to receive a 757 (excluding a few ski resorts/caribbean markets).

I think that really says something for the growth of PNS the past few years. I fly down there every winter (my parent's winter in neighboring Orange Beach, AL) and the flights and terminal always seem packed. I think PNS is also embarking on another terminal expansion as well.

I'm pretty shocked that PVD is going all-RJ...they have done an 'AA' on you.

Up here in Manchester we've been this way for awhile now and have gotten used to it. But PVD is a more established station with more DL mainline than we EVER had, so to go all-RJ there is pretty shocking. The Station Manager there must be fit to be tied. That's a massive drop in seats, since you guys had 757s. We never had anything like that, so our drop in total seats has been marginal I think. Not sure on the drop here at MHT, but the planes got smaller while the # of daily flights went up.

Here's the GPT schedule so far, as long as the schedule sticks, which I know could change.

ATL-GPT
4x CRJ
2x E170
1x MD88

It was 7x CRJ, 1x MD88.

MCO-GPT remains unchanged.

No changes at MHT for the time being, still 5x CR7 to ATL, 2x CRJ and 1x CR7 to CVG and 4x DH8 to JFK.

GSO goes to 4x M80 and 2x CR7 (ATL-GSO has an additional CRJ) to ATL (loss of 1x M80 and 1x CRJ), CVG stays at 4x CRJ and 1x CR7, LGA stays at 3x CRJ, BOS stays at 2x RJ (this time is showing 2x CRJ, but I've seen ERJs on this route before), MCO goes to 1x CRJ and 1x ERJ (loss of the morning ERJ)...a total loss of 3 flights for 242 seats.

Well supposedly, accoridng to an insider source, this is only a transitional schedule and PVD will continue to see mainline flights. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I really hope so. Even though some people like to think of PVD and MHT as competitors, I'm not one of those people. I'd rather see the smaller secondary cities do well and keep mainline...whether or not it's us. So, I really do hope PVD retains some DL mainline because that might bode well for us.

MDT shows six (up from five) CRJ's to ATL and three CRJ's to CVG. It would be nice to get something other than CRJ's at MDT.

Still no changes to MOB. I would expect some EMB 170's and more CRJ 700's as all the CRJ 200's seem to be going out full. DL is really beginning to tick me off. GPT and PNS are getting increases, yet not MOB.

MOB schedule:

1x MD88
4x CRJ200
1x CRJ700

From what ive been hearing is it is a transition schedule (9/2-9/5), rather odd move by DL, but I got 2nd hand info that PVD will be keeping mainline under the Sept sched.

RDU changes (Net change: +92 seats):

ATL adds no flights, increases seats:
*2x 738, 7x MD88, 2x CRJ ==> 4x 757, 3x 738, 2x MD80, 1x CR7, 1x CRJ

CVG loses a flight:
*2x 732, 1x CR7, 2x CRJ ==> 1x 738, 1x CR7, 2x CRJ

SLC sees no change:
*1x 738 ==> 1x 738

LAX sees no change:
*1x 738 ==> 1x 738

BOS sees no change:
*3x CRJ, 1x ERJ ==> 3x CRJ, 1x ERJ

LGA sees no change:
*1x CR7, 3x CRJ ==> 1x CR7, 3x CRJ

JFK sees no change:
*3x CRJ ==> 3x CRJ

FLL loses one flight:
*3x ERJ ==> 2x ERJ

TPA sees no change:
*1x ERJ ==> 1x ERJ

MCO sees no change:
*4x ERJ ==> 4x ERJ

Good for PNS... hopefully some of this growth will spill over to MOB. The 757 is certainly is a step up. I guess we'll have to see if this stays in the regular SEP schedule.

Nothing significant at MIA...

Atlanta: 10th daily returns; however 764 and ERJ service end.
Cincinnati: mainline service returns; still 2x daily (CR7/MD88)
NYC-JFK: unchanged; 1x CR7
NYC-LaGuardia: unchanged, 2x MD88
Orlando: unchanged, 3x ERJ
Salt Lake City: unchanged, 1x 738
Tallahasse: unchanged, 3x daily ERJs

I don't see DL bringing 764s to MIA. I think you meant 763s.

At MSP, nothing changes other than the loss of mainline MSP-SLC service with the 737-800, which was scheduled to return this fall. DL service at MSP is really down, at 2 daily mainline flights from 11 daily mainline flights a year ago.

remember that DL will probably be bringing alot of smaller city schedules down this fall and throughout the year. The 764s that flew to Europe will be coming back to the domestic system until some are converted for 777 replacements.

DL's need is at the bottom end of the fleet where the 737 classics have left. Consequently, the smaller cities will be harder hit throughout the winter. By summer 07, DL might have obtained some used narrowbodies or acquired some larger 2 class RJs which might help replace some of these schedules next summer.

Over the winter, DL will do well to have alot of capacity out of the domestic system.

I'll fly WN before flying RJ's long distance all the time. I would also rather fly on a prop instead of a RJ. I am surprised that the airlines haven't gone back to props more since they are better on fuel.

Didn't see that, sorry for the mistake.

Just to add some noticeable things:

-LGA will not lose widebody service like was expected.

-DFW will regain widebody service through a daily morning flight to ATL on a 767-300.

-ERJ-170 service will be introduced on DL's hourly ATL-MDW service. ERJ-170s will also be operated on a number of other routes.

With the retirement of the 732s and the return of a handfull of M88s after renegotiating some leases, this could indeed be a transitional type schedule as the 'true' September schedule is effective 9/6, which hasn't been loaded onto the website yet. I'm hearing that PVD will indeed keep mainline to ATL in some form or another, but nothing 100% yet...

Thats why I posted this here...hoping someone might be able to shine some credible light on it.

Before, it was just the default sched, then yesterday I noticed alot of changes during that 4 day period, but reverting back to the default schedule shortly after (9/6). Ive been told through a credible source that PVD does in fact keep mainline after 9/6, but yes the lack of mainline during those 4 days is rather odd.

I used Sept 8th. If that represents the new fall schedule, then IAH remains the same in terms of # of flights (7 to ATL, 4 to SLC, and 4 to CVG) but gains two more mainline frames (a MD-90 replaces a CR7 to SLC and a MD-88 replaces a CRJ to ATL)

Looks like they have updated the schedule past Sept. 5th. Here's a few ATL cities that I checked. I'm sure this isn't the final schedule, and will be edited a few times before Sept. actually gets here.

JAX-ATL stays the same as far as frequency, but nothing smaller than a 757.
6x757
3x763

GPT-ATL goes to 9x, up from 8x.

2xMD88
1xE170
1xE144
5xCR2

SAV-ATL goes 10x up from 10x.

5x757
4xMD88
1xCR7

MOB-ATL remains the same at 6x.

2xMD88
2xCR7
2xCR2

MSY-ATL goes to 11x, up from 10x.

2x757
5xMD88
2xCR2
2xE145

Also MSY-SLC gets returned to the MD90. I saw someone suggest that it should return with the upcoming schedule, and it did.

Well, that is better than now. I guess I can't say DL is ignoring MOB as much anymore.
