Would really like to see a MAN-IAD service, why pick up a route like LPL-EWR which is unlikely to succedd tdue to the proximity and number of services from MAN. A MAN-IAD flight would be good to pick up from BD.

They cannot be covered by ABTA anyway as they are not travel agents.

Correct - my bad. Was typing without thinking.

Are the flights not offered under the ATOL of Globespan??

Wasn't sure if GSM have an ATOL. And a quick check of their site doesn't reveal any suggestion that they are.

Just reading through some of the above points and there are some that really made me smile.

The thought that LPL - EWR wouldn't succeed but a MAN - IAD would needs some justification. This is a route that will rely heavily on O&D therefore New York is the stand out choice. MAN - IAD was all about feeding UAs hub and was never destined to be an O&D route.

LPL wouldn't be all that conveniant from anywhere but LPL, for anywhere else in the country there's invariably a more conveniant airport. This is also true for every other airport in the UK! Of course the reality is the most conveniant airport is the most cost effective. My local airport is BHX, when I went to CGN last year I flew from East Mids, EZY from EMA was far cheaper than Germanwings from BHX.

Any chance of GSM teaming up and creating a small alliance with EZY for connections from EWR into Europe, simular to the manx2 services launching soon from IOM to LBA,BFS,BLK and then onto the LS network. Just a thought. Or is GSM expecting to have a large presence at LPL of european operations by the time the EWR flights launch next May?

As a pilot flying for GSM, I can assure all of you that the LPL-EWR flight will be a guaranteed success. Not one person within the company has any doubt that the route won't make a good profit. There IS a great need for point-to-point connection between both cities.

FlyGlobespan is the First and so far only UK airline that made a nett profit from their first year of operation.
All our flights, including our GLA-SFB are hugely succesful and making a profit.
Our Business-class cabin on the GLA-SFB is mostly full, and this without upgrades.
Shiek!

Certainly hoping you are right, GSM seem to have a cracking business model and aren't afraid to try something new, any chance we'll see the further south in BHX ?
