Your Favorite 737?

Sat Jun 24, 2000 1:48 am

With 9 current versions of the Boeing 737,The -100, -200, -300, -400, -500, -600, -700, -800, and now the -900, what is you favorite out of the nine. I've only been on the -200, -400, and -500, and I think the -500 is the best. I would like to go on a -800 someday soon. It looks really nice.

I have been on the 200, 300, & 400 with Delta Express, Piedmont, AirTran, Continental and US Airways. The best model would have to be the 200, I consider it to be a hot rod when it comes to takeoffs.

I would have to go with the -300. It's imbued with a classic sense of appeal and is the backbone workhorse of the world!

Even though my username is SAS 737-600, I must say that I like the 400 and 800 best. These long-bodied beautifull aircrafts.

I have flown the -100, -200, -300, -400, and -800 on Continental, US Air,
Lufthansa, United, and I like the -500 the best. The -800 isn't all that nice,
it's just like the -400 but with greater range and a few more seats. It is
designed for high-density medium haul flights and isn't all that comfy.

I have been on the -300 (UA), -500 (Braathens), and -800 (AA). While I liked the -800 the best, I would really like to fly on a -600. I have always liked the -500 and -600; they are the "baby" 737s. I always thought that the -600 would make a cool private jet!

I have been on all 737s, except for the -100 and the 900 (which doesn't fly yet). I had 2 great flights on a KLM -800, comfortable from the inside, and it is the best looking 737 from the outside, it shook off the stumped piggy-look of the 100/200/500, and it's as long as my favourite (the 707). I haven't seen a real 900 yet, so maybe that will be my future favourite.
But I also have a fondness of the 737-200 (forget what I wrote above), because it's becoming a classic aircraft now. Especially in Europe you can consider it a wellkept relic, which makes you imagine or memorize the 60s, 70s and 80s in aviation.

Gotta be the -200. Like a sleek little shark. Solid as an ingot of Unobtanium, mechanic friendly (for the most part), reliable. Finished the 727's work of bringing air travel to everybody everywhere.

I've flown on only a -200 (Delta) so far, but I'm flying a -800 (Delta again) this summer. I liked the -200, it is a very nice plane. I like the NG models, namely the -600 and -700, and also the -800. I like the -600 a lot because its short, but it has a very long wingspan and a tall tail. I just like the way it looks. I bet it performs pretty well. Same with the -700. They look great head-on.

So far I have flown on the
737-200(A) - DL, SN
737-300 - CO, L'Aeropostale
737-400 - SN
737-500 - AF, CO
737-800 - CO
...and I am going to fly CLE-BOS on a CO -700 in August, but so far my favorites have to be the 735 and 738. Compared to the other versions, you can feel the extra power during takeoff and climb even if you're sitting in the cabin.

I've flown on -200s, -300s, -400s and -500s with a variety of airlines, but my favorite would have to be the -700. it just looks great, and I'm itching to fly on one.

I've been on -200, -300, -400, -500, and -800. Of them, the -200 (the true 737 Classic) is my favorite, followed closely by the hot-rod 735.

Been on the -300,-500, and -700 on Continental and one -300 on Southwest. I was hard pressed to find a major difference between the -300 and the -700. CO's interiors are fresh on all types with winged headrests on everything that I have flown with them. Though if I had to pick one... I'd go with the -700 b/c the new interior panels and IFE make it very clean and fresh inside.

I have flown on the...
737-200- Piedmont,US Airways, Delta
737-300- Piedmont, US Airways
737-400- Piedmont, US Airways
and will fly on Continental 737-500 in a month or so...

Of the types I have been on, I favor the 400 for its increased size. I'm interested in trying the NG's although the 737's are so common these days it's hard for me to get too excited about the 737. Sorry

I love the look of all the 737NG series. It looks sleeker, more modern and more powerful than its predecessor aircraft. Out of all the NGs, I think the 737-800 looks the best, with its long fuselage, extended wingspan and larger elevators. Can't wait to see the -900 also!

The -200 is my favorite. Probably because it has JT8D engines! I like any airliner that uses JT8D's. They are LOUD from behind and have a very cool whine up front. To hell with stage 3- I like em' loud n' proud!!!!

I have flown on
Delta Express:
B737-232
USAir:
B737-300
(that was when I was ten so I don't remember that much about it)

and on August 14th I'll be flying on a B737-300 (US Airways) from BTV-PHL
and then B767-200ER PHL-LGW (USAIRWAYS) and then returning same, but on a 737-400!

737-100 because it is so rare and has JT8D's.
737-200 JT8's again. More than 14,000 JT8D's have been produced, how can you not love any plane w/ a JT8D. This engine has done more to make airtravel and the planes that it powered popular than anything else. With that the 737-100 and -200 are the only 737s that could get the nod.

I really like the 737-700. I flew one about a week ago from Houston to Newark. It is a bit quieter than all the other planes I have been on, and it has television screens, so you get to watch movies on domestic flights. But continental makes you pay $4.00 for the headphones.

I agree with whoever said that the 737-200 is a hot-rod on take-offs. I don't appreciate this much because I am afraid of take-offs. The only part of flying I am afraid of.

Hi

No offense to anyone or anything, but I don't like the -200, -300, -400.....
I think they look rather fat and ugly - for those choices I always prefer to fly the A320 (I DON"T WANT TO CAUSe ANY ARGUMENTS!!!!)
I like the 737-800 best!!!!
