BA Manchester To JFK

Mon Aug 14, 2006 9:36 am

Hi, I am non-revving with my partner (airline crew) from Man to JFK on 11th September. I wandered whether anyone could tell me what the loads are usually like on monday mornings, Also given the recent security shenanigans whether they are likely to be worse/better? Anyone there in Manchester?
Cheers

Jeez. NRSA on 9/11 should be like going to the beach in January. Pretty wide open. I suggest you watch your back though.

Thanks for the advice! I wander whether that puts a lot of people off travelling? I hope not!

Who said that. The 9/11 jinx is almost gone it has become a regular day of flight.

Hey spky...just had a look at the loads MAN-JFK.

On Monday 21 August there are 11 Club, 4 WTP and 16 WT seats available. These are seats available FOR SALE though, and include an overbooking profile, so actual seats available will be less.

On Monday 28th, 32 Club Available (must be empty! Club capacity is only 24). 16 WTP and 50+ in WT.

why would you say that? I understand it's 9/11, but when a person is flying across the pond like that, it's certainly not the best encouragement. I'm sure he, and everyone else is well aware to take extra precautions on that date.

i just checked the BA MAN-JFK flights on that week in September, and everyday that week it is wide open in every class (as in fare levels)

Therefore with even the cheapest seats available for sale less than a month before departure, you should have no problem at all. As long as one does not get cancelled the day before you should be ok!

Whilst not BA, I have taken a couple of transatlantic flights from MAN on mondays (BD, US) and both times they were pretty empty. The US flight actually blocked off the middle economy cabin cramming everyone into the back for weight and balance. Never had that on an A330 before!!

I flew on September 11th last year and the flight was ~90% full! Again but by coincidence I will be flying to Prague this year on 11th September, I am not expecting the flight to be empty...........

Personally I'm not into superstition or freaked by anniversaries or whatever. My pet hate is airlines who refuse to call row 13 row 13. Instead they miss-number every row from 13 upwards! Stupid Bastards!

It was on the way back and on the other occasion I've used the service. But it was empty the only Monday I've tried it!!

Hi - Big thanks to everyone. I appreciate your responses. I have not flown BA longhaul for years and never from Manchester before. When I come home (am actually British from Shropshire) and travel to Europe from MAN/LHR on BA, I have been lucky enough to be upgraded to Club Europe pretty much every time - gotta love BA Cabin Crew/Ground Staff- always so polite, friendly and helpful - they really look after non-revvers and makes travelling back home a real pleasure and makes me proud to be British - to all you BA Personnel "Thanks"
