Do any other airlines have their own songs?

EUjet used to have one ("Just hop on an EUjet.com if you want to get away...")

Lufthansa has just released it's new corporate song "Symphony of Angels". All employees must listen to it while at work (new directive from the CEO). The song will be repeated continously on all aircraft while inflight. Wink

The other day on BBC Radio 2 they played The Flower Duet from Delibes' opera Lackme. It was introduced by the programme compare as 'British Airway's tune'.

It was used in that advert where a large number of people in a desert formed patterns - like a big pair of smiling red lips - and finished when they formed an image of the earth from space. It was all shot from the air.

Now that commercial must have been screened around 15 years ago. So as it is still being described today as 'BA's tune' I guess it must rank - along with the use of Air on a G String for the Hamlet cigar TV adverts - as one of the most memorable advertising tunes to appear on British TV.

There was a new series of UA commercials released a couple years ago which used "Rhapsody in Blue".

Yes they do. To me, it's not UA if it's not "Rhapsody". Still hum it every time I walk through ORD and SFO...

Even though I am a kiwi I still love that song!

New Zealand has some great ads!!! way better then american ads in my opinion... since I mostly watch american ads its nice when I get to watching Kiwi ones!

I don't know if KLM have a song but I remember them playin "I wanna go home" Michael Buble and it made me soo sad that I have decide to go back home to africa for a visit since I haven't been there for 13 years.

I loved that song. They used to play it as part of the ATA radio commercials back in 2003-2004. Living in the bay area, the commercials used to play in the morning on KOIT. I would go into working singing the song and all my friends used to kid me about the fact that I couldn't stop sining that little jingle.

and it was a Tourism New Zealand ad, not Air NZ... but yeah its a good ad, and is still in use in many countries...it is called "100% Pure NZ". Smile

IIRC, I believe they used a piano rendition of Up Where We Belong for quite a bit. That tune definitely does bring back memories...

AFAIK, there were at least 3 songs that PR used. There was Love At 30,000 Feet by Filipino singer Jose Mari Chan, Shining Through which was used in the 80s, and Asia's Sunniest from the 90s. Love At 30,000 Feet and Asia's Sunniest can still be heard during boarding and deplaning and until recently Asia's Sunniest, was used in PR's reservation line (haven't checked in quite a while though but I believe they removed it).

Shining Through went something like (going from one of their 80s ads)...

Warm as the sun in our skies
Real as the smiles that welcome you
At last its true
The beauty of the Philippines is shining through
Philippine Airlines shining through

DL also has the soundtrack oftheir European Sanctuary commercials avaliable for download in Delta-Sanctuary.com (Surely beats when they had the Good Goes Around song in iTunes.

I'm also curious if anyone know's KE's theme? I've heard it in a couple of KE ads as well as the full version during boarding and deplaning. Going from one of their commercials, the English translation to a portion of the song included:

Well not really.. i mean .. i think it was an instrumental jingle based on it.. it wassn0't singed or anythin..

YEah the song was Up Where we belong but it was kinda of a midi .. i can t recall ..

also the first few seconds were custom made and not from the song... i just wish i could remember where i saved it.. Sad

Oh my gosh, Michael Buble's Home is my official song whenever I fly, especially when I am going to return to KUL. I will listen to it over and over and over again the night before the journey, just to get into the 'obviously' right mood. spin

I'm glad I saw this thread.... I have a small (rather silly) request.... I need the help about Continental's older song... well, it's not really a song, is more the tune that goes with the safety video demonstration... You see, in the Bethune CEO era, CO would have this tune that went along their safety video demonstration, and I would LOVE it... I don't know why, but everytime I would be in my seat, waiting for the F/As to finish cabin preparation in order to depart, I would feel very happy to hear to finally hear the song.... Since I flew so much with CO during those years (still do), when the new video with Larry Keller appeared, they changed the tune too.... I tell you, I was very disappointed by the change, I actually was like OH NO, them ruined the demonstration video!!!

To this day I still don't know why did they change the tune, when it was just perfect for what it was.... Anyways, does someone know why they change the tune and if there's a way I could find the old tune somewhere?
