JetBlue In YWG And PHL-EWR

Sun Sep 17, 2006 12:27 pm

While looking at www.flightaware.com, I came across these two flights with the A320's. I was wondering if any of you B6 employees new any information on these flights? Are they diversions, charters, or maybe ferry flights?

JBU5015 A320 John F Kennedy Int'l (KJFK) Winnipeg Int'l (CYWG) Sat 10:56PM EDT Sun 12:58AM CDT 03:02

JBU4706 A320 Philadelphia Int'l (KPHL) Newark/New York Liberty Int'l (KEWR) Sat 10:53PM EDT Sat 11:20PM EDT 00:27

Thanks in advance.

5015 is a ferry flight. Jetblue contracts out A320 maintenance to Air Canada in YWG and Aeroman in El Salvador.

4706 was a charter.

Could that PHL charter be the return for bringing the Giants in for the Eagles game?

Those reasons make a lot of sense. I wasn't really sure since I was unaware of what numbers (?xxx) they place for which reasons. Thanks for your help.

Correct.

While I can't speak say who has chartered the aircraft JetBlue has been doing chartering of some of it's aircraft to bring in additional revenue.

You'll see a number of wierd random cities seeing JetBlue aircraft over the next few months.

It's really nice to see JetBlue doing a lot of charters. That's a great revenue source, especially during September and October where aircraft utilization is pretty low due to decreased capacity.

It's possible, but usually the Philly and NY teams just take a bus or amtrak because they are so close to each other. Like 1-1.5 hours on the NJ Turnpike. Would be strange of them to start using a plane for such a short trip after all these years of just driving.

For WMU this weekend, they did LWB-BTL-CHO-BTL-ORF .

The first and last legs were repositioning flights and the BTL-CHO-BTL segments were the charter.

Not sure why they would've returned to Norfolk after the game?
