Rnwys 31L/R In Use Due To High Winds At DFW

Thu Nov 16, 2006 7:21 am

Arrived into DFW on MX842 from MEX this morning on 31R, but that in itself was not unusual. What I also saw were Jet departures off of 31L which I had NEVER seen before (have seen Eagle depart on the Rnwy many times though).

Even more unusual were arrivals on 31L. It appeared that arrivals where lining up for 36L and then making last minute turns and landing on 31L. Really unusual to see.

Winds were out of the Northwest at 30-40mph with gusts to 50mph.
