I heard rumors, that it belongs in some way to AIR UNIVERSAL, after their venture in Cyprus failed... Will do Hadj-Flights for now...

Wow, that's the worst registration I've ever seen for an airliner. Tops even G-BUSH.  Silly

A truly awful livery, but its still basic Lufthansa, years after it was sold. Btw the livery of the second, again new, greek 747 operator Sky Express (Cargo) is even worse. Makes it apparent that its a few thousand years since Greece was the world leader in style...

The titles and reg look fake to me. Seems odd that they'd have the reg printed so boldly??

It's an obvious photoshop. The titles are pixelated, moreso than the rest of the photo. Also, the image metadata has been washed. The color of the titling does not match the lighting, and does not alter, as one would expect, with the angle of the lighting. They did a good job bending the last SX-DIE around the fuselage, but the color match simply isn't there.

it looks like LH low cost subsidiary! Horrible livery, just as bad as Lufthansa's.

so you can't "escape" seeing it either when boarding in the front or exiting in the back. Big grin

Heya,

Well that a/c SX-DIE is a Combi model. So it could quite possibly be ex- 5T-AUE as that is a Combi model aswell. If the picture is not a fake that is.

Thanks
Mike

Oceanic Airlines was the airline used for the 777 "breakup" in the TV series Lost.

If the aircraft will crash, all plane-freaks can see the registration better...  Wink

All Air Universal aircrafts has very huge letters for the registration. I dont know why.

I wonder if the designers of this livery were actually Greek!!! It was proberbly more due to money than design. Greece still has great designers and Olympic is a good livery even if it might not be around for much longer.

whoever did that was not a marketing genius. SX-DIE followed by the letters HELL(enic) is a good one.

May be that plane is earmarked for Smintair?

cough, cough

The plane USED was indeed a TriStar, a former Delta model to be exact, but in Lost itself, they say the plane they flew on was a 777. Certainly helps that tail and main section landed in different parts of the island so that there are never 3 engines in one shot  Wink .
