3rd 777LR For PIA - Pics

Thu Nov 23, 2006 4:36 pm

Hi

Some time ago I started a new topic because another A380 had first flight, and I was asked (probably by a US-citizen) if it was necessary to start a topic every time a A380 had first flight. My answer at that time was "yes" because I think it is interesting (since that time I have not started any topics with that subject - but that is not my fault  Silly) - and if other thought the same I would like to share the pics, - and if you don't think so, then please look the other way.

But now I think there is some interesting at Paine Field – another 777LR for PIA.
Take a look at it, on one of my favourite sites:
http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=302329466&size=o

To be honest with you I don’t like the tails, - but maybe you can used to it.
I am rather surprised to see this because I only thought they had 2 on order (sorry about my ignorance), - can anyone give an update on this please?

And for those of us who really-really like the LR and who not has heard this beast alive (or the 773ER) here is a link to a nice video, (together with a SQ 777ER) - and you don’t have to look at it, - but LISTEN, - turn up the volume and just listen (from 01.15).

Please feel free to take a look on my profile, I have some of the 777LR from the Paris Air Show 2005.

Regards

Steen

Steen,

That's actually the first 777-300 for PIA instead of a -200LR...

I personally feel thats its one of the best videos of 2 777ER taking off, love the sound and the fogging up of the SQ engines.

Take a look at it, on one of my favourite sites:

If you were referring to this aircraft as a 777-200LR, then I have to correct you and state that the aircraft you are referring to is a 777-300ER.

You are right Sir!
I am so very much embarrassed - please look at my reply 3.
I badly need some new glasses - or tomorrow I see a ATR as a Cessna.

While I prefer the sound of RR-based engines, those were some beauties taking off... bigthumbsup

I saw AP-BGL just a couple of weeks later at ORD..

The tail of AP-BHV reminds me of one of the "world tails" on BA from a decade ago. Looks nice though. Not sure about "The colours of the desert" logo.

That video is absolutely AMAZING!!! Thank you so much for posting that, I had not seen it before. Seeing that with my speakers almost at peak volume and full bass made me feel like I was almost there, and if I had any doubt, now I have none as to what my favorite aircraft is - the B777. The earth-shattering roar of those GE-90s, that rotation angle and climbout, and seeing that monster suck up water vapor like there's no tomorrow - simply spectacular.  Big grin  bigthumbsup

Excellent link! Thanks for sharing. I will never get tired of hearing a triple 7 spool up for take-off.
