CO & 777 Domestic Routes?

Fri Jul 14, 2000 2:00 am

My friend and I have would like to travel on CO's 777-224ERs from EWR-IAH. They don't seem to be on the schedule anymore. Is it a misprint or is the date base not finding it?

At one point, they were operating one flight with a 777 (EWR-IAH-NRT)
and reverse. They may no longer be doing this. I believe all the 777's
are committed to international routes (Tokyo, Europe). Given that the
summer travel season is in full swing, they might have taken this into
consideration in scheduling the IAH-EWR-IAH network. Perhaps they
might redeploy one 777 on the route in the fall, but aside from the
possibility of Tokyo, it doesn't make sense as they only use 777's at
IAH to fly to LGW and CDG (apart from NRT) and there is no reason
to fly a 777 to IAH then to LGW/CDG from EWR.

I am flying to IAH from EWR soon and one of my flights will be on a
DC10-30, so maybe this is the flight that used to be operated with a

No more domestic 777 flights from Continental. All of the 777s will be used for international expansion.
