Does anyone know how many A330's LTU has in their fleet, and also when these were purchased new?

Regards.

11 according to airfleets.net: 8 A332 and 3 A333. The A333 were delivered in 1996/1997, the A332 mostly in 2001/2002, one in 2006. All delivered to LTU as first operator.

That's right.

D-AERS has been with LTU from 1997 to 2001, and later since 2005. In between it has been busy with different other airlines.

Cheers.

I wonder what will happen with D-AERF, the ex LT aircraft which flew for NM for a while. Will LT lease it again or will that aircraft go somewhere else?

At least one of the -300s should be phased out in 2007. Coming into LTU will be another A330-200 and also a couple of A340-300s.

What? A343s? I read that in an interview with somebody from LTU quite some time ago and have been waiting for news on that subject ever since. Do you know more, where are they from, when will they arrive, or what routes are they supposed to fly?

The other day I was searching the internet for more news about LTU leasing some A343s and found a thread in a German spotter forum (DUS-forum) where it was stated that LTU has given up on that idea.

Really? That's sad, I would have liked to see it in their livery.

Yes, Latest info is that the A340s will not come. I don't know exact reason, but it is possibly due to Dba/Air Berlin merger affecting the previous plans when Dba bought into LTU. I had heard also that the 2 aircraft LTU where looking at did not look too good in terms of future maintenance that would be required. As in, they are old and knackered !

Some A343s have been in service for 15 years, they're probably not the freshest things out there. Do you know who the prior operator was?

I believe that they were looking at ex-Virgin aircraft.

There is one ex VS A343 getting ready for a new operator in FZO, but it's going to A7.
