just for those of you whom were asking about the schedule for installation of the New Club World cabin and AVOD for your forthcoming journeys:

Hey star, thats the config as the low J is currently. When it receives the new CW cabin J will go to 52 seats.

However the aim is that JFK will give a new cabin guarantee by April, which is when the marketing campaign for new CW will begin.

The new CW seems to be appearing most on LAX, HKG and JFK at the moment.

BA's 'Hi J' 744s are configured for 291 passengers (F14 / J70 / W30 /Y177). Not 100% certain, but I believe a figure of 36 was mentioned for the WTP cabin. A definite number hasn't been given for the WT cabin, but based on the fact that in the Hi 'J' aircraft the WTP cabin holds 30 seats, that section might hold another 10-20 WT seats so the WT seating might be in the region of 220 to give an aircraft config of possibly 14F/52J/36W/220M. This is based largely on my determination of the how the WTP and WT cabins will look.

What are the registrations of the four 'lite' aircraft?

Anyone say what the actual number of seats in each Mid-J aircraft will be? And is WT+ still planned to be put ahead of J on the main deck in these aircraft?

Will the same mix of Hi-J and Mid-J exist as today, i.e. will all the Hi-J aircraft remain Hi-J? Will all the Low-J aircraft become Mid-J aircraft?

However just operated the 268 back today and we were expecting NLK but it didnt get back from Cardiff in time so went to GRU instead. Some of Club pax who'd checked in online got surprisingly stroppy given its not advertised yet.

So no sulking if its not!

Some of their 767s fly long haul, but they also have some that fly routes within europe as well - which are equipped with a domestic first class rather than a club world business class.

BA does not have such a thing as domestic first class. Our 767s are either in longhaul config with Club World, WTP and WT or they are configured for shorthaul operation. The 2 operate as seperate fleets unless there is a late substitute required and the proper type of aircraft isn't available.

Eh? How does that work? Online Check-In gives nothing away in terms of old or new seats. On my LHR-IAD flight with the new seats I was completely unaware until I got upstairs!

All longhaul 767s will be getting AVOD.
All longhaul 767s won't be getting Boeing signature interior or the new version of Club World.

If this has 8 seats in First it is an outdated seatmap. No aircraft currently fly with this configuration.

No idea but they knew. LHR said it was now shown online.

NLN was the first one finished in Nov, its been shaking everything down to make sure it works before further aircraft were fitted. I believe it only takes a few days for the Hi-J's as the seats fit in same slots as the old ones. The low-J make take longer.

I don't think this is correct. I flew LHR-SFO 14th Dec and returned 2nd Jan, and had 'old CW, but the Club Kitchen was fitted and used

No idea but they knew. LHR said it was now shown online.

It's not shown online whether you will fly on an aircraft with the new cabin or not and BA have been very careful not to state which routes will receive the new cabin and at which time.

All the 747's so far reconfigured are the HI J configs so the config will remain exactly the same with the new club cabin. So you won't be able to tell.

No promotion/advertising has taken place for the new cabin yet, except for press releases etc on the website and in highlife.

Once one third of the long haul fleet has been reconfigured and all JFK flights are with the new cabin BA will start a heavy marketing campaign.

Well that makes sense at to why my IAD-LHR flight with the old seats had a menu insert about Club Kitchen...I thought since it was hardware it was only on aircraft with the new seats. Must be pretty straightforward to install it then. Just to check, did it look like the link below or was it just a 'Raid The Larder' job?

NLN flew JFK-LHR (BA178) on 9 October last, its last revenue flight with the first generation lie-flat Club World seats. It was then ferried to British Airways Maintenance at CWL on 10 October (BA9180E). When the BA 763s were 'Dusked' in the second half of 2005 and first half of 2006 each spent around four weeks at LGW (where their cabin refit took place).

So the evidence to date suggests that each conversion takes around four working weeks. But during the cabin conversion heavy maintenance may have been carried out and this could have determined the total time out of service. However is CIVS and CIVX are to be back in service before the end of January they are going to have to spend less than half the time at CWL compared to the first two aircraft converted.

Just pull up a seat map from a future flight typically operated by a 38J and you can see the W config. I've posted it before here - W is moving to 42 seats. Which is why it's certainly a smart move space-wise as you get more seats in two of your profitable premium cabins!

BA Haven't updated their seat maps on their website. But basically:
BA's 767 used to have a small first class cabin, however, all those that did, have now had the new interior fitted, which doesn't feature first class, only Club (flat beds) World traveller plus, and world traveller.
Short-haul 767's only have 2 classes- Club Europe (counted as business class) and Euro traveller (economy)

Yes, all BA's long-haul 767 fleet will have AVOD, and the 'soft' club world product, but not the new one, for various reasons.

Correction! NLK arrived back at LHR on 21 January and returned to service that day when it flew LHR-GRU (BA 247) that evening.

IVS is already back at LHR returning from CWL (BA9171E) on 24 January. It was at CWL for less than two weeks suggesting quite quick conversions are possible.
