US To Serve BUF With 757
I'm flying BUF-CLT in March. I just got a schedule change e-mail. I noticed my outbound BUF-CLT is scheduled on a 757. I don't think I've ever seen a 757 as a regularly scheduled flight in BUF before.

For awhile, SYR was receiving the A321 from CLT, as well as the A320 from PHL. The A321 is the largest passenger aircraft to serve SYR since the 1980s. Of course, we lost both the A320 and the A321, and we're back to 5x A319 to PHL (2x), DCA (2x) and CLT (1x). I'm still not complaining, however, as it's more mainline than we had a year ago.

Right before mainline stopped running PIT-BUF it was on a 321 and a few 733s and 734s. It looks like now it will go to 3x daily Dash 8s next month.

Prolly an equipmet swap for the high travel demand. It's coming up on the next travel season with Spring Break right around the corner and many may want to head to warmer climates given the recent string of cold, snowy, and foul weather we've been having. Most of our BUF-JFK and BUF-BOS flights are running pretty near capacity with the odd ball flight that is empty.

Wow,I didn't know Eagle stopped DFW flights to BUF. I remember BUF had CR7 flights way before ROC got them. ROC still has them...odd..
Nice to see US 757's in BUF,ROC only gets 2 mainline US flights now! 1 733 to PHL and 1 734 to CLT.
On a sidenote,has anyone been to the former Flying Tigers lately? How's the spotting there ,now?

Why?
If they wanted more capacity they could go to 50 seaters with the -300 or or an RJ. If they did wanted 70 seats on the route they could put PSA on it.

I believe BUF lost its DFW flight when Eagle started MDT-DFW in September 2006. Sorry BUF fans... The flight is doing well out of MDT.

Or Republic with the E70 aircraft. As far as PIT-BUF or PIT-anywhere is concerned, at least it's served in some way or form...

I looked at my new itinerary and saw row 3. I got excited that I was put in first class. Then I saw row 3 is actually the bulkhead row in coach. Interesting US has only 4 first class seat on the 757 (4 out of 193) yet the A321 has 26 F class seats (26 out of 169). The people with status in Dividend miles must be pissed that US has only four F class seats on the 757. Getting an upgrade must be near impossible.

Under the new America West management, the A321s first class section is being reduced to 12 seats. A320 first class sections are also being reconfigured for the worse.
And yes, judging by the conversations over at FlyerTalk, Chairman's Preferred and Platinum members are extremely displeased. I got to Silver level for this year, but I'm more or less indifferent about fewer upgrade opportunities as the US first class product is already sub-par compared to some of the other legacy carriers.

I also remember BUF being one of the first cities to recieve the 737-800 when AA first started taking delivery. Back then, it was easy to nonrev on AA. Now it kinda sucks...but at least its for the better interest of AA this way.

It is 8 first class seats. Back when I flew on the A321 in 2004 there were 26F seats. Now as I plat member I am not complaining recommending that US keep the 26F class on its 321's. I would like to fly out SAN in comfort aboard an airline that I have status at.

ROC had US A321's for a couple of summers earlier in this decade. I used to see them parked for RON at gate A7 or A9. I don't know if they were back in summer 2006 or not.
ROC's only scheduled passenger jumbos were AA DC-10's to LGA, SYR, ORD, and CLE, back in 1972-1973. SYR was a tag on from LAX-ORD-ROC-SYR. CLE was a stop on ROC-CLE-LAX. They were ended after the 1973 oil embargo and never returned.
Why BUF and SYR got jumbos for so long--SYR until around 1980, and BUF til almost the end with Eastern--and ROC didn't, I don't know. We had 707's on AA until right at the end in 1981 when Bob Crandall parked them en masse and they started becoming KC-135 parts food for the Air Force.

Hey,Jim.Remember the D&C clippings you posted when the AA -10 from LGA skidded off r/w4 ? I lost them ,somehow. Funny,now ROC-LGA is a Dash 8!!

I remember going to SYR as a kid and watching the morning AA DC10 and EA L1011 go out. That was the only reason to go up there first thing in the morning.

Sure do....I'll see if I still have the files, and if so I'll e-mail them to you. Part of the reason ROC-LGA is Dash 8's almost certainly has to be slot squatting by US. Fly 8-10 dailies from LGA to places like ROC and SYR on mostly Dash 8's, so that AirTran, JetBlue, etc., can't get more slots at LGA.
The FedEx A300's are always a welcome sight when I go home.
