AA Retro Jet
Is there or has there been any talk at AA about putting a T7 into the retro jet livery? I was just thinking about that the other day and figured I'd pose the question. Would anyone like to see this livery on a T7? I think it looks fabulous on the 737 and 757, but what about a 777? Opinions and comments as you please!

I don't think I've heard of anyone painting a 777 into a retro livery. I'm not entirely sure how it'd look, as the 777 is awfully 'fat' compared to the narrowbody 737 and 757 to wear retro liveries, and of course the aircraft that wore the liveries long before.
I'd take the awe of understanding over the awe of ignorance any day.

I'm not sure you'll see a 'Retrojet' out of AA again. The 757 lasted far too short and I've read here on A.net that the 737 is scheduled to be painted back to standard colors soon.

Welcome to anet! And I have to say, I don't think it would look too shabby in that livery at all. You can't go wrong with tha AA T7 in either livery.

Personally I think painting a 777 in a retro livery is just stupid. There were no aircraft that size when that type of livery was prominanton airline fleets.
Also, (not to confuse this with the American topic) one thing that annoys me are new airlines that use a retro livery. You cant have a a retro livery of a non-retro airline!! :P

Is using a 320 stupid? There were none of those around at the time these schemes were around.

In my mind, yes. In reality, no. there were aircraft that size in the time of these retro liveries.
And I said it not HPAEAA!
Personally I don't like new aircraft with retro liveries. Id much rather see retro aircraft with NEW liveries!

It would be cool to see an early jetliner or even a propliner in a new livery.

Why not keep both these jets in the colors instead of painting it back? There's no doubt it attracts attention. From a marketing standpoint you want to be noticed. Passengers in the terminal would do a double take, even ones who aren't enthusiasts. They might even think they're on a "special" jet. I just don't see how keeping the retro livery on a couple planes would hurt.
There's nothing quite like a trijet.
