besides the announced upgrade/changes (DH8 to CRJ/ER4) by DL for JFK-SYR, JFK-ALB, and new 2X daily ER4 service betwen JFK-BGM, I found a few others:
JFK-BUF goes from 4X CRJ in February to 5X CRJ in March, then to 6X CRJ in April.
2 of 4 JFK-SYR DH8s go to ER4's (announced) - the remaining 2 to go RJ by the summer along with all 4 JFK-ALB DH8's.
All 4 JFK-PWM DH8 flights go ER4 in April.
3 of 4 JFK-BTV DH8 flights go ER4 in April.
2 JFK-PIT flights swap CRJ to ER4.
Both JFK-IND flights swap CRJ to ER4.
1 of 4 JFK-BWI and JFK-ORF DH8 flights go to a CRJ in April.
BOS-BGR goes from 3X CRJ to 4X BE1 in April.
** New 2X BOS-ALB begins in April.
looking at the BE1 schedule at BOS, it appears that 1 Beech sits in BOS between 12:10pm and 5:40pm and then sits in ALB from 6:57pm all night until 8:00am the next morning, which leads me to beleive they might add a few afternoon flights to the schedule somewhere.

Hmm, had that conversion expected, though going from 150 (or 120, not sure whether those CRJ flights are on 40- or 50- seaters) seats to 76 is quite a drop in capacity.

Also, spring marks the start of two banks (and some rolling schedules) of transatlantic departures and arrivals:
- Transatlantic departures will start as early as 4:20pm, with quite a few departures in the 4-5pm slot (ATH, KBP, IST, ACC, etc.), reduced number between 5 and 7pm, and then another bank in the 7-8pm hour (TXL, FRA, NCE, MXP, VCE, MAD, BRU, DUB, LGW, PSA, OTP, etc.).

so far, I've only found BOS-ALB and BOS-BGR.
I also know they have put in bids to serve some EAS routes (ART, OGS, and MSS - all small northern tier NY State markets) to BOS. I was expecting to see things like BOS-ISP, SYR, BTV, and maybe places like PQI, BHB, LEB, etc.

This bid was approved. ART will be the hub with flights to ALB, Massena and Ogdensburg. ART will also be the maintence base for 8 BEH aircraft. Ogdensburg and Massena flights will first go to ART and then to BOS or change planes and go to ALB.

Delta is finaly realizing the full potential of what it acquired from Pan AM 15 years ago. Why did it take a bankruptcy and a decade to fly to all these wonderful places.

Looks like DL is switching out OH CRJ's for Freedom ERJ's...could this be the end of the OH base in JFK? With Comair's Feb 9th deadline coming up maybe DL's planning ahead.

Well, I remeber a few years back when DL was operating the JFk service before it was dropped and resumed, they had said they were interested in BOS service from Ireland anyway. Its also being talked about a lot in DUB!

I am pleasantly surprised to see DL go double-daily on LGW-JFK so soon after launching the route, is their any reason behind it?
With CO offering a very much established double-daily LGW-EWR and Z4 launching LGW-JFK for S07 I am surprised to see the capacity increase so early on in DL's LGW-JFK operation.

I believe that was always their intention. Because London is such a business powerhouse, having more than one flight everyday really helps for the business traveler. This way they have an early return in the morning, and one in the late afternoon.

I think B6 has taken alot of thier business on BOS-JFK although they serve LGA! I would rather fly to JFK and fly B6 than Fly Delta anywhere!

yes, so far, PVD, BDL, MHT, and PHL are still all DH8. ALB is too, but they have announced that will switch over to RJ by the summer.

I would like to see them go and see UA and B6 increase their presence in the BAWSTON area! Thats all!

They are not giving up their shiny new terminal. They will have to concentrate operations to a certain point, to the tune of losing 4-5 gates if it even happens.

Operating more flights out of less gates is a way to drive up efficiency and reduce operating costs. WN does it at most airports, so you have a moot point...

Yes SONG is gone. Everyone, including Delta knows that. In terms of Delta changing, change does not happen overnight when you have 2000+ flights to maintain daily and 500+ aircraft. Did you expect them to stop flying for a few months to reconfigure all of the aircraft?

I think the real issue here is that you just don't like Delta. Which is fine. However, if you are going to make sweeping generalizations, you should have support for your arguments. We can go into numbers, but on a revenue basis, DL is up vs. last year in most markets, including BOS. Yes the new terminal is expensive and increases airport costs for DL at BOS...

Huh? You need to look at some facts and numbers. Here's the latest DOT report (for flights in December 2006):

Delta mainline came in at #3 overall in on-time performance for December, scoring an 80.8% on-time arrival rate, just behind Aloha and Hawaiian. Even Comair improved their standing to rank #14 of 20. JetBlue by the way, came in at #18 of 20 for December (a 64.8% on-time rate) as well as for November. Year-to-date, DL came in at #6 while B6 was at #15.
In BOS specifically, B6's on-time arrival % for December was 75.7% while Delta's was 86.7%.

Thanks for posting the report. Great numbers for Dec now that all runways are open in ATL. I noticed that DL even took it to SWA in most categories. Good numbers for the entire year, also. Keep up the great work DL.

I actually flew Delta last week and Their service was much better than it was same time last year. KUDOS to Delta for working their crap out!
