Swedish Charter Makes Emergency Landing In Moscow

Fri Mar 09, 2007 4:36 pm

A 747-400 on route from HKT to GOT had to make an emergency landing in SVO or VKO last night due to medical emergency onboard. A woman in her mid 30's started vomiting a few hours after departure and´when the plane landed in Moscow she had passed away due to a heart-stop. A doctor and a nurse onboard tried to help the woman and gave her oxygen but the tube went out of it and when they landed it was to late. Our minds go to her children and her husband. May she RIP.

Aftonbladet is reporting that the plane was carrying 580 passangers  crowded  That's a lot! Any idea of the operator?

Robbie where did you find out that she had hubby and kids?
I remember one similar incident when a young lady became gravely ill and they landed in Russia, she had her belly full of nosecandy in condomes and survived. She ended up in Russian prison.

Easy to find a double thread when we have an hour difference from top to bottom of the page...no wonder my post was deleted though.

Here's more to read about this, in swedish though:

The helping doctor onboard pleeded for five hours to land the plane, but the crew didn't listen. That's just great.

Perhaps there was a lack of landing sites available.

This is awful I really feel for the woman's husband and children, having lost their mum and to die at such a young age as well.

Who knows if they had landed when the doctor first wanted to she may still be alive today.

Between HKT and GOT there are plenty of airports to land at, Calcutta, Dhaka, Lahore, Tashkent, Almaty, Orenburg, Saratov, Samara, Novgorod are all along the route.

There has to be one serious investigation into this, but if Corsair are found to be at fault they'll get maybe most a fine, never enough to bring back a young mother.
