Quoting B6sFinest (Reply 9): The E-180 sucks majorly...Like Ive sain in previous threads B6 needs to sink ours in the bottom of the Atlantic...As the would make better coral reefs then airplanes.... |
Oh come on... that's a silly statement to make.
The E190 is a very comfortable aircraft from the passenger's perspective (which is what this thread was all about, as far as I can tell!). In my 5-6 flights on JetBlue's E190s - I hope to be on a US E170 later this year - I have been lucky and not experienced any delays or problems, and the flights were very good. The seats were comfy and I am a big fan of the big windows. For anybody who thinks these are oversized regional jets, I suggest trying one first. As always, I love JetBlue's service on these planes, and watching tv or listening to
XM while spending an hour taxiing for takeoff at
JFK is SO MUCH better than not having either.
As for the reliability, I admit that I am not the one to ask about this. I can only say for sure that I have been lucky on my flights. But it seems to me that everybody knew there were going to be problems as this is a new aircraft type. Yes, the E170 has been around a year or two longer than the E190, but AFAIK they have completely different engines on them, so it is not exactly fair to compare the two from that point of view. Now that JetBlue's E190s have been flying a year and a half, I'd sort of hope that the major glitches have been rectified and it sounds like that has not quite happened. Hopefully this new software package will do the trick, because if the E190 can enjoy anywhere near the dispatch reliability of the A320 or B737, this aircraft will be hard to beat.
