Entrance To NW WorldClub

Mon Mar 26, 2007 12:20 pm

I was recently in DTW a couple of days ago and overheard and CSA talking to customer regarding entry into NW's World Club I overheard her say even though he was not a member holding a WorldClub card, he could either purchase day pass, or as long as they are AMEX platnium card holders they would be allow access. Ive searched the NWA website and and found no answer. Does anyone know the answer to this? Im curious if this is the case as I am a AMEX platnium card holder.

Thanks

Does this include the AMEX Optima Platinum Card? If not, do you think agents would be able to tell the difference?

No. You need the 'real' AMEX Plat or Centurion card AND a same day ticket to gain admission.

FYI here are the ways I know how to access a WorldClub:

1. WorldClub Membership
2. Continental President's Club Membership
3. Delta CrownRoomClub Membership
4. AMEX Plat or Centurion Card (with same day ticket for NW operated flight)
5. SkyTeam Elite Plus with an international SkyTeam operated flight
6. SkyTeam International Business/International First Class ticket
6. Priority Pass (at some WorldClubs)

There may be others but I'd guess these are the major ways folks access the WorldClubs.

FYI here's a link to the correct AMEX Plat card. The annual for US customers is $395 and the Centurion card is 'by-invitation-only'.

Thanks for the response. Interesting I would have never have known they allowed access to the rooms unless I overheard that conversation. Do you know if this applies to the Delta Skymiles Platnium card as well or just the AMEX Plat card?

Many thanks again

Currently it's just the AMEX Plat or Cent card (and you also have to have a same day on the lounge operator's flight - i.e. if you want into the DL CRC via the AMEX method you need a boarding pass for a same day DL operated flight).

Doesn't traveling in WBC also allow entry to the WorldClub?

WorldBusinessClass is International Business on Northwest thus meeting the first point #6. The same with BusinessFirst on Continental and BusinessElite on Delta.
Always wonderers if this "last and final boarding call" is in fact THE last and final boarding call.

FYI, your Platinum Card will also get you into CO President's Clubs and DL Crown Rooms, in each case with a boarding pass for a flight operated by that airline on that day.

A weird but unknown perk is that Flying Blue Elite Plus holders also gain access to WorldClubs when travelling on a NW domestic ticket.
