Quoting UN_B732 (Reply 5): Was the audio put on after he taped it? It's almost like he was expecting it to abort.. |
Quoting Ward86IND (Reply 7): Thanks alot...that's right it's Osaka, that's probably why I couldn't find it...and yes, the guy is a major toolbag. Lol, 'Outer marker.' (As plane enters runway) |
Quoting LHRspotter (Reply 13): The "author" paid $20 for A.net membership some months ago though and there was a lengthy disussion here already. |
Quoting COSPN (Reply 2): I thought you were not alowed to use electronic devices during Take off and landing ???? |
Quoting Ktachiya (Reply 18): I flew as many hours as an airline pilot (right.............) |
Quoting 777-200 (Reply 23): logged as many hours as a certified pilot so he knows whats going on... |

Quoting Kearney (Reply 11): I dont understand why everyone bashes this guy so much... |
Quoting Ha763 (Reply 10): Was an a.netter. Didn't last too long. |
Quoting Detroitflyer (Reply 30): im not understanding... what exactly did he do to get himself banned?? |
Quoting Evan767 (Reply 29): Just a bunch of aviation geeks getting hyped up when they hear someone saying something wrong about their obsession |

Quoting Evan767 (Reply 29): The proper term is "on final" not "on finals" bud... |
Quoting ACDC8 (Reply 31): I find it's more the tone of his voice that made him sound like a complete git. Misidentefying procedures/equipment is understandable, but his constant over dramatiztion of the whole take-off phase (never mind the rejected take-off) is way over the top and that's what IMHO makes him an utter moron. |
Quoting Threepoint (Reply 24): Quoting 777-200 (Reply 23): logged as many hours as a certified pilot so he knows whats going on... Many frequent fliers may indeed know what's going on (admittedly this particular filmer didn't know a great deal about anything). Countless times of observing or hearing all the various routine noises, movements etc allows a certain sense of familiarity among the non-pilots. It's when they pretend to get technical that their folly is exposed. |
Quoting Evan767 (Reply 29): Quoting Kearney (Reply 11): I dont understand why everyone bashes this guy so much... Don't worry about it. Just a bunch of aviation geeks getting hyped up when they hear someone saying something wrong about their obsession. I agree, this guy isn't a 'tool', what did he ever do to you? |
Quoting FlyDreamliner (Reply 35): People on A.net have limited tolerance for people annoying pretending like they know what's up, and being dramatic and what not. This guy was an annoying tool. |
Quoting Threepoint (Reply 26): It's not very encouraging, considering each one of us knows little or nothing about many other topics, and would be loathe to have 'experts' publicly belittle us. |
Quoting FlyDreamliner (Reply 35): While some frequent fliers can log an awful lot of hours, and have a decent guess at what is going on (esp. if they are a private pilot or something), no one sitting in back knows when they hit V1. You can guess at what is going on, but at best, it is just that - a guess. |
Quoting OB1504 (Reply 38): Well, Vr is presumably a lot easier---just wait for the airplane to start climbing! |
Quoting TommyBP251b (Reply 25): So where is the discussion'? |
Quoting Kearney (Reply 11): I dont understand why everyone bashes this guy so much... yes he sounds stupid and all but its what we would all sound like talking to our self as we video tape...neat to have a vid of an aborted takeoff...so anyways exactly what does he say that makes him a "tool" |

Quoting Threepoint (Reply 43): I know. I've logged over 6000 commercial hours and I sure couldn't tell you from the passenger cabin when we reach V1. Which is why I mentioned the following. |
Quoting TommyBP251b (Reply 46): 1. Is V1 allways slower than VR? I am talking about airliners from a 737/A320 upwards-size! |
