Airlines To Beirut?

Sat Apr 28, 2007 6:24 am

I am trying to book a reasonably cheap ticket to Beirut from Geneva this summer, around August 1 and am having difficulty even attempting to go about doing this. I will be in Geneva for work, and being based in New York I really don't have an idea as to how travelling to BEY works given the situation there. What would be the best routing/air fare I could get from Geneva to Beirut - I haven't been able to find a non-stop as yet, so obivously I'd be willing to have a lay over somewhere along the way. Also, it would be best if I could stick to any Star airline, though again, I'll go for the cheapest fare. I was thinking EK through DXB or LH through FRA - though that would be back tracking a bit.

MEA flies 3x weekly non-stop to GVA on A321s. They are a great airline and I'm sure you'd enjoy them.

For a more affordable option, try Malev routing GVA-BUD-BEY or Turkish Airlines routing GVA-IST-BEY.

Wait awhile, DL needs a new route to "balance out" TLV.

Whats the difficulty?

All the usual airlines are on that route it only takes a few moments of expedia, yahoo/travel, etc to find what yr looking for.

Olympic, Malev, Jat, MEA, RJ, TK are going to work for you. All easy to find info.

Thanks, I'll try to get on MEA, or on TK.

The difficulty is that on expedia tickets are well over $1,000 on routings that take me through Milan on the way there and Paris on the way back. Obviously not optimal.

From LHR, I've used Austrian via Vienna (very short swap of planes in Vienna and just 40 metres to walk door to door) and also Olympic via Athens. Both were a lot cheaper than direct flights.
Book early for the summer season!

You should try MEA's website, www.mea.com.lb, occasionaly they will be the cheapest. I went MEA BEY-GVA-BEY for 3 days, no problem!
