Taking off from Gibraltar is often edgy enough with the short runway and heavy winds, but this would make it a little more hair raising!

I'm assuming that the strange sound about halfway into the video is the bird hitting the engine and the engine failing?
Seems like when they powered off the engine the sound ceased, but you here something that sounds like scraping back and forth on touchdown and taxi.

Wanted to ask, what is that scrapping sound after they landed? If they shut down the engine were the blades still turning 'cause of the wind or something? That's the sound? Blades hitting bird parts in the engine?

Actually the world record for a birdstrike was at 37,000 during cruise.

I've been living in Gibraltar some years ago, right in the big marina apartment building you see at 31sec of the video (for the locals: Neptune House).
From my balcony I was able to oversea the airport and the runway, only about 150 m away.
I remember they quite often made loud bangs to scare away the birds.
Took off from Gibraltar several times to Tangier ( طنجة ), strong winds caused by the Rock. I guess that must be one of the shortest intercontinental flights.
If not the shortest!

Isn't it the "barking dog" sound that people always refer to on the older A320-series? As far as I know this is caused by a switch in the electronic/hydraulic circuits, but that's what I read here on A.net so I stand corrected.
I've heard this sound myself after landing on the A321 only once, it's very audible and it really sounds like a barking dog, but I've never heard it in any of my other (around 10 or so) A320-series flights.

It looks like the bird strike was about a second after rotation. Where did they end up landing?

I actually shot that video You can not really hear the impact of the bird but the noise after it hit the engine. The engine was shut down by the pilot and we continued on the Costa Del Sol on 1500 feet for our 15 minute journey to Malaga.
@Robffm2: I was too living in Neptune House with a nice view on the runway. But I moved back to Germany now...
