Wow, that was fast! Excellent job screeners.

The paint job is possibly the most boring ever, however.

I am also disapointed in their choice of new livery.

I wonder what the rate of repainting will be ?

What the heck is on the tail???  Sad

At least a tiny widget returned to the titles.

If they had not gotten rid of the classic colors...maybe.

If they had not castrated the widget on the tail, then also it might have been OK.

But now we just have a plain white tag-along airplane that screams out how unimaginative it is, and that reflects on the airline to me. The red on the tail looks terrible with the blue in the daylight.

I am surprised that it looks worse than it did in the hangar without sun on it.

Really too bad.

I don't mind the tilted widget on the tail. It just looks a bit unfinished. I think that a thin red cheat line between the navy underbelly and the Euro-white fuselage would have completed the look. I would also have enlarged the DELTA lettering so that it's more bold and confident.

Not too bad, but I think it coulda used a cheatline or something to break up the monotony in the white. Guess it'll be easier to paint when they get bought out!  duck  Just kidding!

I am not in favor of this livery. The tilted widget may be visionary to some but not appealing to me. Also I believe the name DELTA should be in bigger letters on the side. I see CP Air circa 2007 in the tail or a bit of scottish kilt material.

I love this paint scheme! Speaks of the future and things to come. As for those who have problems with the widget, it is still there, only modernized, and ppl need to realize that the golden age of flying is long dead.

Good job DELTA!

And congrats screener s, that was very fast!

It's not THAT bad, but definitely not very inspired. I wonder how much they spent to come up with it? I would love to know what some of the other options were.

Did any of you consider the fact that this livery will not be very expensive? How would it have looked to go out and choose a new livery right after emerging from bankruptcy that costs 2-3 times as much, and beyond what the other US majors are doing, to the shareholders and wall street?

I think it looks pretty good. Never like the previous ones, ANY of them really.

My sentiment exactly. In my opinion, one simple cheat-line would have made the difference between my loving it or hating it.

That really does not affect how much I like the paint now does it? I wish they'd just stuck with the old ones.

I'm no expert, but they could have done something to make it better than it looks now, and with the same amount of money.

Quoting DeltaDC9 (Reply 19):

Anyway, that is really not what the discussion is about DeltaDC9, it's about whether I liked the scheme or not. I don't, and that is that.

The colors of the tail in the sunlight are much better than in the dark light on that model that was leaked. I'm starting to be the first nerd to say I like it! Go Delta! Now bring your DFW hub back and mainline service to MLU and SHV!  bigthumbsup

These colours will look great on any aircraft. Nice looking tail, although perhaps the blue at the bottom of the fuselage could have been bought up abit over the wings, instead of under the wings. Hard to explain, but yes, great livery. Can't wait to see it on a 777 now. Onwards and upwards!

Absolutely appaling. They should have at least made the widget on the tail look similar to the old and original widget.

What a great start to the new Delta, a classy, professional and truly international look to represent a truly great airline. Congratulations to the designers, staff and BOD of Delta for getting the company back on track and in it's rightful place in the industry; profit!

NEW LIVERY: GREAT!

THE CRITICS: You'll get over it, just like you did with US.

It don't look right...the tail looks like something out of the 80s that I can't put my finger on, and the widget next to the title looks like a color print when the printer runs out of blue toner. I *guess* I kinda like the curvature of the navy on the bottom but that's it.

It is not bold enough. Tail is modern and nice, but the theme is not carried forward to the fuselage and engine nacelles. The title is way TOO small; can hardly read it. They should've made it like a billboard with the wedge taking prominence. Even the fuselage color could have been blue with a transition to white with the large wedge...

My biggest beef is that they have, once again, altered the logo: the widget should have stayed red, white and blue. Straight up and down.

DL brand management says their brand image isn't as defined as other air carriers. My thought is if they would quit dicking around with it and leave it alone, it would be fine.

The FA's got new uniforms. The planes got new paint. I wonder if the pilots will finally go away form the double-beasted with gold uniforms? Maybe they will also ditch the hats and add leather jackets?

I guess I might be one of the only people on here who actually likes it. The new livery represents a true LEGACY carrier, not some low cost start-up. The new DELTA is about great customer service, amazing service and customer satisfaction. The new livery seems to be extremely professional and does not contain vibrant colors that scream "Low Cost". These colors, on the other hand, give a sense of security in a well-established airline, with a professional outlook on customer care.

Just my thoughts.

If the Delta employees like it and it makes them feel proud about their airline has accomplished, then that is good enough for me. Personally, I think they could have been more bold in the overall scheme but perhaps they were balancing looks versus the economics of getting too fancy.

Can't wait to see it in person.
