Hi to ya all... Tried to search, no result!  angel

So, here we go! what's the situation in Mexico?

Is AZTECA still grounded, what happened to their fleet and when will they re-start operations?? is the 90-day ultimatum gone?

I heard rumors that RepublicAir was grounded as well! is it true? I really loved their colors and their PREMIUM-class on the B737-200! what a shame...

Any news on new venture Ka'an Beel Air?? is there any web-page available??

cheers! Saludos! chriX

A few days ago, there was an article on Reforma (newspaper) about Republic Air being grounded by the Mexican authorities.

Azteca was only about a week on the ground and they are back in services.

Republic Air's two B737 are long wfu and both are stored at San Luis Potosi (SLP) - see CH-Aviation.

And ZE apparently has new owners, but no clue who they are. Hopefully they have overhauled the airline's management completely and appointed more competent people at the helm (should not be too difficult). I don't know but I think ZE would be wise to seek a merger with A Volar or Aviacsa. These two, however, would probably dismiss the idea... I don't know whether all stakeholders of ZE would be better off if the assets were sold and the airline liquidated.

Not true, ZE is still grounded and will still be. The 90 day period is running, ZE was grounded IIRC, March 6th, 2007.

Ain't true. XA-RBC is not a WFU, it is just missing its engines which are on mx. It was due to return to service these days but DGAC ground them as they did with ZE. XA-RBD was the one flying and currently at MEX having its "inspections" from DGAC in order to restart ops., they too, have a 90 days period.

As soon as i have time i will keep you updated with all carriers and extend what's going on at ZE.

Azteca's website is still working, but it won't let you select any flights.
