Air Asia's 40 Potential Longhaul Destinations

Mon May 07, 2007 10:49 pm

Of course, this is not the official list, just a teaser for what you may expect from Air Asia Long Haul (formerly known as Air Asia X). I'm surprised that they don't mention Manchester since Air Asia is the official low cost airline of Man Utd...

What an excellent list! They have mentioned more than twice that Manchester or London and Tianjin and Hangzhou would be among their first routes. But whatever. As a potential consumer, I can't wait.

There has been a lot of discussion, both on A.net and in newspapers, about when Air Asia Long Haul will begin flying. When seems most likely?

I can't wait for their routes to be announced and to finally start booking - assuming, of course, that it's sufficiently cheap.

That was the banner they have in their website. It's great that you posted it here as I don't know how to do it. And I guess, this should obsoletes the list of target destinations they had in power point presentation during their Investor Relations Day.

Some of the cities like Madinah, Paris and Sydney were not on that list. I am surprise Sydney and Paris were there because AirAsia Long Haul 'supposedly can't' serves the destinations which is being served by MH. Adelaide was on the former list. And Manchester! Oh well.

AirAsia's livery fits well with A333, isn't it?

Just for comparison, here are the list of the former targeted destinations being revealed in AirAsia's Investor Relations Day early this year:

Europe
Manchester, London Stansted, Berlin, Prague, Moscow

Middle East
Cairo, Sharjah, Jeddah

Indian Sub Continent
Lahore, Karachi, New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Goa, Bangalore

East Asia
Hangzhou, Tianjin, Shenyang, Dalian, Xiamen, Sapporo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Pusan, Cheongiu
Plus 2 unidentified cities in China, 1 unidentified city in South Korea and 1 unidentified city in Japan

Australia
Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne Avalon

A few are out, most are still there but a lot of new inclusions too.
