Delta 757 At LGW?

Thu May 10, 2007 6:56 am

I was looking out the window on our takeoff roll from LGW on CO67 today and I swore I saw a DL 757 in line for takeoff. Did I miss something about scheduled TATL DL 757 service or was this some sort of charter?

Was it in the new paint scheme? The new paint 757 is on a tour...including LGW.

It was the tour of the 757 in the new livery to roll out the new Delta Branding. They have stopped at ATL, CVG, SLC, BOS, JFK as well. I may have missed a few stops.

According to flightaware, all DL flights from LGW today to JFK, ATL, and CVG have been 767s. It might have been a charter to another destination, which would be harder to find on flightaware.

So LGW spotters, where are the pics of the DL 757 at LGW going under the bridge?!

Yep, it was in LGW today. I saw it land from my room at the Sofitel Gatwick at about 8 a.m., and it was parked at the North Terminal when I was on CO 19 departing for Newark.

As already mentioned, it is on a tour. It left IAD on Monday night non-stop to LGW. Aeroseek shows it arriving in YUL and now is heading to ATL DAL9998

If you'd have seen the weather here Tuesday morning you wouldn't have got out of bed especially either!! hehe!

It was nice to see though having seen the pics of it on A.net but I'm still unsure whether I like it or not! I think the titles need to be bigger like on Emirates or Ghana International. The fuselage just looks too plain. Nice tail logo though!

The previous posts were made while I was doing the research with flightaware. When I had checked later, it was too late to edit. Thanks for your concern though.

What an absolute waste of money. One wonders if the bankruptcy court would have allowed such a waste a couple of weeks ago.
Does it take much to figure out how carriers go into bankruptcy?
New paint schemes that look awful and aren't needed, now ferrying aircraft across the pond for photo ops in cities that the aircraft type will not likely serve. At least put the paint scheme on a 763, then fly it revenue and have the marketing department arrange for photos during a turn.
