Operational spare, for a couple of weeks? If the aircraft for CMH-BUR went OTS they could swap it and keep it on time...

It appears that as they build up the schedule, they fill the "gaps" and move things around to be as efficient as possible.

I would think so. Based on this first build up in service, you appear to be right.
I think you may be right. The real problem comes though, when something does break down and it's more serious than just a one hour repair. With such a small fleet, they'll probably be forced to do some serious juggling with their schedule or else they could find themselves canceling some flights and stranding passengers.
We'll see if they can work this out...

Avianca...since you have some knowledge of the scheduling, do you know which airplane between N551SX and N552SX will come on line first, and will they be wearing anything besides the normal Skybus livery?

Sorry, but I have no connection with Skybus or their scheduling people. I used the following high-tech technique to determine their schedule:
Checked their website and wrote down each of their flight pairs (CMH-BUR, 25min turnaround, BUR-CMH etc) on a post-it note.
Clicked on various dates into the future to determine if there were any schedule changes (as I discovered for 5/23, 5/29 & 6/12).
Arranged the post-its, starting with the first departures in the morning, and slowly built up the day starting with each of the aircraft.
Discovered that there was only ONE combination of routes and Ship #s that was possible, assuming that all Ships immediately return to CMH after completing a round-trip.
Except for when Ship 1 or 2 is "resting " at CMH during the day, it seems that they will be very vulnerable to cascading delays with absolutely no extra time allocated on the ground to take up some slack if something goes wrong.
I'll try to update the schedule as new routes are announced.

Maybe not just an operational spare. They shouldn't need one for just 2 aircraft. Could be crew related (as in lack of).

traditionally, even numbered flights operate eastbound and odd numbered flights operate westbound. So, therefore, using that logic, the flight numbers are "backwards." Using the traditional logic, 229 should be westbound and 228 eastbound.
Yes, I'd like to see airbus go under so Boeing can have their customers!

I just spotted N551SX in SAT this evening at San Antonio Aerospace. It arrived Saturday, I believe. Anyone know why it's here? Pre-lease maintenance check of some sort?
The livery has a white fuselage with orange titles, and an orange tail with white titles. I think it looks pretty spiffy, personally.

They are making some of these planes white on the fuselage so they can easily put on a logo of companies that want to advertise on the side.

Are they not using gates for them in Columbus, or are they doing all hardstands? My buddy was down there yesterday and got some shots of them boarding the aircraft at a hardstand. Temporary or permanent?

CMH ground boarding is permanent. FLL requires jet bridges though.

Went out to the airport yesterday, and saw N522SX flying around, and saw it land, aside from the tail which is slightly darker in color, its white and has Skybus written in the front, a bit smaller as if it was waiting for an advertisement to be put on. But its tuesday...29th, which means it is now into service.
As far as operations are going, All i got to see, was the Check-in Desk, which was full of people, and surprisingly...a lot of people were paying and checking in bags.

Don't know why they require it in FLL....but SAN is the same way I think.
That aircraft sits every day for a decent amount of time until it goes to MCI. It will get more utilization once more stations come online in a couple weeks.
