Viasa,
We've sent the local spotters to hunt for it! Unfortunately, our resident spotter in Medan has moved to Halim for the moment, perhaps he can catch it there!

Since there's little news here... I'll add something...

Yesterday or 2 days ago, Batavia 733 PK-YVZ suffered decompression on Balikpapan - Surabaya (BPN-SUB) flight, diverted to Banjarmasin (BDJ).

Hi chaps, Now living in China. Delivery of MA60 to Merpati has been on TV news here several times - clearly it isn't selling too well anyhere outside of PRC. Looks a lot nicer than I had imagined, and should relieve MZ's tired old birds.

Doesn't the article also mention they will be taking 3 more A330's???. Aren't the persistant rumors
that the A330 fleet is going back to the lessors? Where is the money coming from to pay for the
new Airbus?? Sounds like some more fancy accounting to me. Hummm I wonder what budget they
can sabotage next

Not sure. The article says "mengalihkan pesanan 3 dari sembilan pesawat A330-300" which I think translates as "divert 3 of the 9 orders for the 330". I guess they must be trying to convert the 3 Airbus 330s which have yet to be delivered into 320 orders.

NTSC and NTSB is reported to have started retrieving data from the FDR and CVR as of 10th Sep (if I remember the date correctly).
Current info is that IRS error and weather radar failure suspected.
