America West B752 Liveries

Tue Jul 03, 2007 9:54 am

How many of the HP B752s painted are still painted in the special liveries? And if they have been repainted, are they now in the colors of US or a mix of HP and US?

When the HP 757's with the special liveries go in for paint they are painted in the new US colors. The new US has said that any special paint schemes that they will use on their planes will be on the A-319. The days of the 757 painted in the different schmes are over, its all A-319's now. I believe they have one painted in the old Piedmont colors, PSA colors, Mowhawk/Allegheny colors, and a few others such as a Philadelphia Eagles one and a Phoenix Cardinals one. I believe they will be doing a few more. If I recall I believe there will be a Pittsburgh Steelers one and also a Carolina Panthers one. I also heard a rumor about a Washington Redskins one but I don;t know how true that one is.

If you do a search on the photo page on here under USAirways/A319 you will be able to see them. I have no idea how to post pictures on here so thats the best info I can give you.

N901AW is the only HP 752 that is still in a specialty scheme, in the Arizona colors. I don't know exactly why they haven't re-painted it yet... but it still is a beautiful sight touching down in PHX

Most are all gone now, except for what Maverick said...the AZ livery. Most of the HP 757's are being retired very soon, so any special schemes will be added to A319's.

The last I heard N901AW, the Arizona 757 is scheduled for repaint in September, this may have changed. All other HP 757's are now in the new US Livery, as are all the A-319's. The only remaining special schemes yet to be unveiled are the Steelers and Panthers, both US East A-319's scheduled for painting in late August, just in time for the start of the NFL Football season.

Add the Nevada plane that is now on the A319, which looks hideous!  no

It looked better on N915AW!!

Thanks for the info, I am not sure why I thought of this...the things you think of I guess when you are on cold meds.

I wonder if, on the Steelers plane, they'll paint the logo on only one side of the tail.
I'd take the awe of understanding over the awe of ignorance any day.

An interesting side note... If applicable. I saw a n US East 737 AC in the new paint scheme today. I didn't know they have started painting east AC in the new scheme while there are still AW AC in the old scheme.
I'd like to thank me for flying Me Airways...

there are only a couple of A320's still in the America west scheme and also N901AW in the Arizona scheme. They need to start painting the East planes cause some are very bad.

From what I have been todl, tt was scheduled to be painted back in April, but we had some scheduling issues that prevented us from being able to send it at the time and we were unable to send it before the summer season. Thus, it is still in AZ colors until the summer season ends.

908 was the AZ Cardinals bird. Our specials were: 901 - AZ, 902 - Tmwk, 904 - D-Backs, 905 - Ohio, 907 - Suns (left fleet several years ago), 908 Cardinals, and 915 Nevada. On a side note, we still have N622AU that is in the Star Alliance scheme on the East side (pretty sure it is still in SA scheme).

Nope, it got repainted back in late April I believe. It didn't look pretty stripped down. You could still make out the original EA registration number!

Arizona scheme is for sure still around I even saw it today. All the rest have been painted over. I was really hoping for a coast to coast 319 but I dont think that is going to happen.

Sorry, but from everything that I have heard (I am not in marketing or planning for this area, so I am not guaranteeing anything) is that the Teamwork design is officially dead.

Just out of curiosity, what is the plan for N838AW? Will it stay in the hybrid livery or be put into the new scheme eventually? Just wondering as they do have N828AW as the America West retro jet. Thanks

Fortunatley US doesn't fly mainline into CVG so we won't have to put up with it in Cincinnati. Feel free to send it to BWI though US.  biggrin

I wish DL would do the same with the sports teams in their hub cities, but besides the fact that I don't see DL doing it, something tells me it'd be embarrasing to put the Cincinnati Reds livery on a Delta bird.  wink  It's only now that the Bengals have gotten decent does DL advertise "Official Airline of the Cincinnati Bengals" in the CVG Airport.

On this subject (sort of), has the America West Arena in PHX been renamed, was it renamed a while ago, or is it still the America West Arena?

It's been the US Airways Center for about 2 years now.

This will stay in the AWA retro colours they painted it a year ago. It is part of the heritige planes. It is funny seeing that scheme on that plane casuse they painted the 319's in the old new AWA colors.

That's interesting - thanks for the information. That means they will have the old HP livery (N828AW) and the final/most recent HP livery (N838AW). Will they be doing anything similar for the US livery, i.e. have retro jets for the old US livery and the final pre merger livery?

Have all of the America West 737s now been repainted? Are any left in the livery below?
