They should move the BOS service to PVD since the Cape Verdean population is closer to that airport (Pawtucket and Central Falls, RI).

hey, I can dream...

Anyone knows how much is a ticket from Boston to Cape Verde?
I tried to look for it in their German website, but it only includes Germany-Cape Verde flights. No info coming out from Travelocity.

Do you know what days these are on

Its quite a good idea to use STN as all current LON-Cape Verde flights go from LGW. Wonder if any UK tour operators will be taking seats on the flights?

Shame for Porto to loose TACV though

A daily service SID-FOR seems impressive. It used to be one or two weekly depending on the season. Maybe they are willing to take some pax between Europe and Brazil.

TP got a competitor in FOR. SID as a hub between Brazil and Europe, it was about time.

Yes, TACV have decided to go up from 2 weekly to daily in Fortaleza in order to grow into the p2p market but also to allow passengers to continue their trip to some cities in Europe after a quick stop at Sal Airport.

Amsterdam (thu-sun)
Lisbon (daily)
London (mon-thu)
Munich (thu-sun)
Paris (wed-fri)
Rome (tue-fri)

Hi Pzurita1,

prices are from 599.00 USD (Tax non included) for roundtrip ticket and from 750.00 USD for one way ticket.

Advice you that all US flights are operated in all tourist class configuration 757.

Regards,

Gerard

They did. It was a 1x weekly 757.

Indeed, with over 350,000 Cape Verdeans living abroad (lots in Lisbon and the Boston region for example), one cannot rule out the power of VFR in their situation. Tourism is also a dominant player here too, Cape Verde gets nearly 100,000 tourists every year and Expedia recently said Cape Verde was the number tourist destination for 2007, last but not least, one must not forget the limited numbers of connecting passengers they get by selling packages to Brasil to holidaymakers in Europe (albeit with a stop is paradise).

Although much of Fortaleza's success lies on the fact that lots of Cape Verdeans travel to N.E Brazil to purchase consumer goods for back home.

TACV also said they want to add 3x more 757s in the next 2 years and expand in Africa (good news).

RAFVC10,
Thanks for this info. Now I find myself fantasizing with a trip MTY-BOS-SID-FOR-MIA-MTY. That would be a very unusual routing and would take me to know Cape Verde and north Brazil.

Indeed. Government has decided to keep SID for tourist purposes and RAI for diaspora flights.

Unless you must go to MIA, it'll be best to buy MTY-BOS return and a BOS-FOR via SID return.

Amazing to see FOR operated daily. The performance of the twice weekly flights were indeed strong.

VR is still operating OXB-DKR-RAI and DKR-RAI routes with AT7 a/c. I guess there are no more flights to Banjul.
