Quoting JamesJimlb (Reply 2): i was starting to think slt wasn't doing to great |
Quoting JerseyGuy (Reply 8): Even if you don't know your airport codes. Its so obvious SLT is Salt Lake ciTy |
Quoting SESGDL (Reply 9): I know. But I was thinking maybe it's some obscure place where service from CDG would be more reasonable than from ATL or JFK. It took me like 2 seconds to realize it was SLC, but still. |
Quoting MastaHanky (Reply 15): I'm pretty sure SLC will be offering a decent sized chunk of money over the next several years as an incentive ... I'm not convinced it could cut it otherwise. That said, look for me on the inaugural flight, hopefully in seat 2F. |
Quoting Pdxcof9 (Reply 14): All our Canada flights can park wherever except YYJ which has to go to D4. I heard it was because there's no customs in YYJ. Anyone know the answer? |
Quoting SESGDL (Reply 7): Great news! Can't wait for the announcement. I, however, knew of this for a while so it's not really news. But it's good to see an announcement will be made soon. |
Quoting SLCUT2777 (Reply 17): Could SLC-LGW be around the corner now? DL CEO Jerry Grinstein noted that direct service to Europe was going to come sooner or later to SLC. CDG is the SkyTeam hub, but LGW has the much larger O&D market to/from SLC. |

Quoting San747 (Reply 18): Now that Open Skies is in effect and LHR is finally open, why not try and get a daily slot for SLC? Why would DL want to start a new flight to LGW if LHR is now an option? |
Quoting StrandedInBGM (Reply 26): Drop BGM - JFK for SLC - CDG? Does not make sense! |
Quoting Fewsolarge (Reply 24): "Paris is considered by some to be a better Delta hub than London." |
Quoting TG346 (Reply 19): Didn't many speculate AF would be the first to open this route |
Quoting MaverickM11 (Reply 29):
I suspected AF would fly to DEN long before touching SLC. I still think this route is going to be a loser, at least until SLC grows quite a bit more as a city. |
Quoting StrandedInBGM (Reply 26): Drop BGM - JFK for SLC - CDG? |
Quoting Positiverate (Reply 32): Any ideas if it will be an SLC based crew? |
Quoting CO787EWR (Reply 34): If this is true, it seems that DL/AF are getting real close. Hmmm KLM/NW, DL/AF, CO/KE??????. This should be a good route for DL/AF, DL gets great connections in CDG and AF gets great connections in SLC. Only question is the J demand their. |
Quoting FLYGUY767 (Reply 30): If that were the case MSP would not being seeing daily service to Amsterdam, London, or Tokyo; Tampa would not be seeing service to London; Portland would not be seeing service to Frankfurt, or Tokyo.. |
Quoting DL767captain (Reply 36): does DL have any planes that could do this nonstop? would they be using the 77L's that they ordered? |
Quoting 777captain,reply=: Delta will begin flying SLC-Europe when Boeing makes a 100 seat aircraft that has a range of 6,000nm and uses peanuts for fuel. And even then, it will be 3x/week. cheers |
Quoting SLCUT2777 (Reply 17): Could SLC-LGW be around the corner now? D |
Quoting FLYGUY767 (Reply 33): That would almost certainly be a given... |
Quoting FLYGUY767 (Reply 38): Quoting DL767captain (Reply 36): does DL have any planes that could do this nonstop? would they be using the 77L's that they ordered? Boeing 767-300ER |
Quoting JamesJimlb (Reply 2): does anyone know how long it will be. |
Quoting FLYGUY767 (Reply 30): SLC-CDG 500pm-1035am+ 9h 35 CDG-SLC 1220pm-240pm 10h 20 |
Quoting YULWinterSkies (Reply 43): Like for any new route, it will as stay for as long as demand/revenue is there! If not there, it will be dropped to the benefit of another tryout somewhere else. But IMO it has a great potential, the whole Europe (AF is a major player throughout Europe) to the whole Mountain/W coast US (where DL is also a major player), so I'd see it staying, at least seasonnally (summer). |
Quoting Pdxcof9 (Reply 45): Why not push it up 40 minutes? Have it arrive at 2pm. It'll be perfect timing for the 3 o clock skywest bank which starts at 250 and ends at 345 or so |
