Quoting Flyf15 (Reply 7): This is your DC-9 replacement that everyone talks about. |
Quoting DIA (Reply 8): Interesting that these a/c are still refered to as "regional jets." They are not. In fact, if they were, they would be named ERJ-175 instead of E-175 (throughout the E-jet family).................., dem all' semantics doh...right? |
Quoting KarlB737 (Reply 9): "He said that are no plans to replace Northwest's aging DC-9 fleet with the Embraer 175. While Compass may take some routes currently flown by DC-9s, Bendoraitis said those DC-9s probably would be moved to other routes." |
Quoting Flyf15 (Reply 7): But remember boys and girls.... this airplane, although it has first class, long range, and will be serving major cities.... is somehow not good enough to be a mainline aircraft and will be contracted out to a regional airline. This is your DC-9 replacement that everyone talks about. |
Quoting Flyf15 (Reply 11): Yeah, I know thats what the article says, but I'll bet you a dollar that in the end, the Embraer jets (along with CRJ-900) will be the DC-9 replacement |

Quoting EMBQA (Reply 3): Not really new news. The Northwest/Compass E175 has been flying for a few months now and there have already been several threads with pictures. |
Quoting Dbo861 (Reply 14): Are you sure about this? From the first article listed above is dated 8/14/07... |
Quoting AA737-823 (Reply 18): uhhhhhhhhhh..... they ARE named ERJ. Just look at the type certificate. Wha-bam. |
Quoting Bobnwa (Reply 12): I will take your bet, the E-175 will NOT replace the DC-9's. |
Quoting Okie73 (Reply 10): semantics yes. But for a reason. They call them RJs because they want to be able to outsource them and pay the employees less. The E-175 is about the same size as the DC-9-10. There is no reason the pilots or flight attendants on an E-175 should be paid less. |

Quoting Luisca (Reply 15): Wont the DC-9s be replaced by E95s in mainline? Did I dream this? sorry for the stupid question I have been out of the loop on a lot of things lately, way to busy at work for A.net! |
Quoting DIA (Reply 8): Interesting that these a/c are still refered to as "regional jets." They are not. In fact, if they were, they would be named ERJ-175 instead of E-175 (throughout the E-jet family). After flying in some of these a/c myself, I can atest to the fact that they are definately a big step beyond an RJ. Ah, da heck wit it, dem all' semantics doh...right? |
Quoting MattRB (Reply 16): Great aircraft from a passenger perspective |
Quoting 787KQ (Reply 23): Is there any reason those working on the DC-9 should be paid more than for regional jets? |
Quoting DTWAGENT (Reply 32): Question. In one of the past forums on the CRJ-900 and the E-175, it was stated the DTW would not see them because of a clause in the current pilots contract. Is this true or not? |
Quoting Thering (Reply 30): I wouldn't be so sure.... While lot of people say that the Cseries have an advantage over the E-Jets when talking about DC-9s replacing due to the 2x3 layout, the 2x2 layout of the E-Jets make the seats wider, and please a lot of passengers.. The seating capacity of the C110 and the E-195 is the same, and e.g. would be C8Y98, 106 total, or with only Economy, from 110-125... The C110ER beats the E-195AR in range, flying 2.700nm non-stop, against 2.400nm. Will be a good fight... But I would bet on the E95s, mainly now that they are operating E75s |
Quoting ZuluLima (Reply 27): what took so long for the official unveiling? |
Quoting Access-Air (Reply 37): Perhaps they were doing proving runs.... |
Quoting Lexy (Reply 38): Quoting Access-Air (Reply 37): Perhaps they were doing proving runs.... They had to do flight familiarization with the crews and the FAA had to ride along as well. |
Quoting ZuluLima (Reply 27): I saw one here in DFW nearly a month ago, what took so long for the official unveiling? |

Quoting BNAtraveler (Reply 42): NW*(CP) 2030 MSP 7:09P BNA 9:24P |
Quoting Indy (Reply 21): That E-175 is a sexy piece of work. I can't wait to see one of those here in IND in the NW colors. |
Quoting BNAtraveler (Reply 42): NW*(CP) 2037 OMA 9:12A MSP 10:28A |
Quoting BNAtraveler (Reply 45): is delayed due to ATC CONSTRAINTS, so it will be interesting to see how the re-schedule to accommodate given 2 planes and the pivot around MSP. |

Quoting CRJ900 (Reply 4): Will NWA present the CRJ900 the same way? After all, they will be used on the network just as much as the E175... |

Quoting ZuluLima (Reply 27): Sexy on the outside...bland on the inside. NW should have used a splash of red on the headrests or something. I saw one here in DFW nearly a month ago, what took so long for the official unveiling? |
Quoting N801NW (Reply 31): FWIW, the non-stop MHT- MSP flight moves from an A319 to the Compass E-175 on November 4th. |
