That means, only four A300 will be left for domestic and european traffic?

despite the intercontinental layout of some of the fleet, all aircraft will still operate domestic and european services. capacity will be slightly reduced by the new config, and so indeed, business passengers will get to sit in real business class seats on short haul flights.
If only pure sweetness was offered, why's this bitter taste left in my mouth.

TLV I know myself, however CAI dont know as I never flew on it. Just heard from a few people who were on the route they said that food on flight back to ZRH from CAI wasn't that great. Did you have the chance to try LH already on CAI - FRA? On return flights from TLV quality is really poor don't know if it is the caterers fault or LX, they don't always seem to put too much when it comes to catering. I was on JFK - ZRH in F a few weeks ago and I must telly you I was very disapointed food wa ok, but it was very basic. Most top airlines serve better (more exclusive food) in C class now a days.

Seems we keep flying LX routes with opposite experiences  Smile
My family and I have been flying LX to CAI for years and always the catering ex-CAI was better and of higher quality than the catering ex-ZRH. My loyalty to LX has prevented me from flying with LH (plus their return flight from FRA to AMS is horribly timed  Wink )

Are those the same un-upgraded interior Airbus A300-600's as before? The expectation of flying Lufthansa to the places it puts the A300's is that you will have a world class product then you get this? Why fly Lufthansa on those routes? For shame.

A300 of LH is simply a cattle carriage.

Quoting PADSpot (Reply 39):
Missing IFE in Y-class migth be an issue, but ok I prefer a decent newspaper anyway.

On some A300's there's no entertainment at all. Nothing.

I personaly have switched from LH's A300 to brand new KL's A332 for ALA - Europe flights.
A300 longhaul - is a shame.

BTW do you have more details on the FRA - TLV loads and the reasons wat lead to the downgrade from A346 to A343 on the night flight starting with winter timetable?

it the winter months there is no need for 66 business seats, but for some First Class seats! This will open up A346 availability to other high performing routes.

Quoting LTU932 (Reply 49):
I personally see an A333 just as too big for such a shuttle route, but there were people who thought this was the best option for replacing the AB6 on domestic shuttle routes and routes to LHR.

I can calm you down! The A333 is already used on domestic routes since few weeks. Last Saturday the KWI inbound made two FRA-HAM turnarounds. The weeks before LH964/965 (FRA-MUC-MUC) was also operated by A333 for some days (most times the KWI or BOS inbound aircrafts).  wave

And a statement to all A300 detractor: what do you need more on 3-4hrs flight???  Confused PTV? lie-flat seat? a personal assistant?  Confused  Confused  Confused I even don't call such routes long-haul! FRA-CAI / TLV are not more than 4hrs. The old BMED routes from LHR to the ME are much longer (up to 7hrs!!!) and are operated by A32x family and nobody is complaining. Big grin

Common, ALA-FRA is 7.15 westbound and 6.40 eastbound. And if the flight is with the stop in TSE, than it's 8.55 westbound and 8.15 eastbound.

9 hours in cattle carriage? No way.

Nobody complaining because nobody is flying. It's faster to get to London from ALA on LH or KLM, then on BA/BMED. BMED flights are completely not popular among business travelers.

When did LH start flying MUC-DEN??? I totally must have missed that announcement. I know FRA-DEN has been going for a while (and it used to be with a 744, and I gather that's now been downgraded to a 346?).
